Some APC governors, who were unhappy with the announcement of Kashi Shettima by Bola Tinubu as his running mate, have scheduled to meet with President Buhari today in Daura, to formally register their displeasure befoe taking the next step.THISDAY gathered that the governors and Tinubu had been
back and forth on the choice of running mate, and while they were naturally opposed to the idea of two former governors pairing, they had started considering pandering to Tinubu since his sentiment appealed to Shettima.But to do this, the governors were said to have agreed with Tinubu that the unveiling would be done with them present, to show consent and agreement.However, going ahead to announce as if they did not matter in the equationmore so that some of them were uncomfortable with the Muslim-Muslim idea, has further angered them. But they first wanted to intimate the president with this before deciding what to do next.

That's my question too. Tinubu is too smart to take such an important decision without consulting with the Governors who made it possible for him and would still need them for the election.

Though, he should have made the announcement with the governors present so it'd appear like it's their own decision. I feel that way too.

you people never believed he could get here and he did. Why are you bothered about his choice of running-mate? Is it not his defeat you all pray for? He has taken a decision that would make him lose and you guys are not celebrating, but complaining. What do you guys really want?

We were all made ti believe this and I don't think this is what they agreed. Shettima is a former governor too. Let's wait and see what the official statement from them would be.

He actually consult the Oracle's but was not patient enough to hear their verdict. Let the confusion in the camp of the enemies continue for our gain. OBI/YUSFUL mandate l stand.

This shows how desperate APC are to retain power.

Their major aim is to retain power. They show no regard for competence, equity and fairness.

In the struggle to retain power, the best option was to field either Kashim, Shettima or Rufai. And truth be told, that's the only way they may stand a chance to win.
