Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke for winning the Osun State governorship election.

DAILY POST had reported that the returning officer for the governorship election in Osun State, Prof, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke winner of the election.

Adeleke won the Osun governorship election with 403,371 votes.

He polled the highest vote to win his major contender, Governor Gboyega Oyetola who pulled 375,027 and Action Democratic Party (ADP) Kehinde Atanda as the second runner-up.

Reacting, Okowa said Adeleke’s victory has shown Nigerians that the PDP is ready, willing, and able to rescue Nigeria in 2023.

Okowa tweeted, “I congratulate the people of Osun State and my brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the @OfficialPDPNig candidate for a decisive victory at yesterday’s polls.

“Senator Adeleke’s victory has shown the entire country that the PDP is ready, willing, and able to rescue Nigeria in 2023. It not only sets the momentum for the future but it also highlights the need for unity within our ranks.

“This is why, as we prepare for the arduous task ahead, I pray that our party can sustain this drive into next year, as we work to elect Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of Nigeria.

“Congratulations to the people of Osun! Congratulations to my brother, Senator @AAdeleke_01! Congratulations to our great party, the PDP.”

We are voting individuals and not party, APC is taking over delta, LP is taking over at the federal level, democracy has gotten beyond party sentiments.

Apc brought religion scam to blackmail Adeleke forgetting he is also osun son

2023 They never learn

Selling M/M ticket scam to blackmail north forgetting north have suffered most from Apc incompetence security wise

Forgetting Atiku is also a son to north and muslim

While this a big motivation for the PDP going into 2023,they should not forget a good number of the electorates voted for the candidate and others just wanted a change.

Where there are other alternatives (like LP for presidential )...votes are likely to swing.

I'm so much happy for OSUN election as no blood shed nobody cry for manipulation, I hope during Presidential election the same calmness will be observe, this is free and free election, I love Yorubas if they don't believe in you they would turn their back on you disregard of your influence and money.

Okowa should not be carried away by this victory, PDP will never succeed APC when Buhari leaves. Btw, Oyetola was never a popular candidate in the State, even the first election between the duo was a clear evidence. In addition, his performance was woeful and he seems to have made more enemies than friends in the state's political arena.

Anyway congratulations to the dancing senator.

People voted Senator Adeleke because they rejected Oyetola.

Nigerians have rejected Tinubu and Atiku. It's only the nairaland resident zombies that don't know this yet. They still think that their master, the old BATified druggist has a magic wand.

Gov Okowa is wrong, Osun people voted for Adeleke not PDP, if Sen Adeleke was in another party, he would still win.
