The Nigerian presidency has issued a statement on a recent video by Terrorists threatening President Muhammadu Buhari and flogging Kidnapped train passengers.

It can be recalled that several passengers were kidnapped by Terrorists after an attack on an Abuja-Kaduna Train  a few months ago.

On Saturday, the Terrorists released a video threatening President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-rufai and flogging the kidnap victims.

Reacting to the development via a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA on Sunday evening, signed by Presidential Media aide, Garba Shehu, the Presidency described the video as 'Propaganda' adding security agencies were on top of the matter.

"Terrorist activity using propaganda and the use of violence to force governments to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world. The country’s security and defense forces are not clueless or helpless. They have their plans and ways of doing things which they will not display in the media."

"The dilemmas in dealing with the specific case of train terrorists are manifold: punitive action like the popular call for carpet bombing of the known locations may assuage the desire of an angry public for revenge, but what about the hostages? They have committed no offense."

"All they did was to board a train. It suffices to say that the security forces are not relenting. They are acutely aware of their duties, responsibilities and what the nation expects of them. Whenever they embark upon those actions, they expect that the public should provide them with the needed support."

"Terrorism is a global scourge that must be fought by all actors- the military, the civilian population and the communication service providers. This is the only way safe havens of terrorists are eliminated in every part of the world."

"To help the nation against ongoing situation, the media must increase their support for the fight against the exploitation of the internet and social media for terrorist purposes. The Presidency, in the meantime wishes to reassure the public that the President has done all, and even more than what is expected of him as Commander-in-Chief by way of morale, material and equipment support to the military and expects nothing short of good results in the immediate."

And some people still want APC to continue.

Because Tinubu and Atiku are your tribesmen you're campaigning for them to win, deep down you know they're coming to steal and make things worse, but you don't care. You want them to win so you can brag that your tribesman is the president. Okay.

The people in that video could've been any of us, think about it when casting your vote next year.

The govt and the terrorist are one family. So expect no positive action from the govt. My sympathy goes to the hostages. They might end up like chibok girls if nothing is done urgently. Pathetic leaders.

Amaechi: Delegates who sold votes at APC presidential primary are regretting.

"Speaking over the weekend at an event to mark the 60th birthday of Eugene Ogu, general overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission in Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital, Amaechi said the “ordinary” citizen is the problem of the country."

Chai.

Can you see how low this country has gone under the present administration? Responding to well known criminals as if they are a sovereign nation on their own.

If not for fear that there is a real possibility of such an event to happen, why did government have to respond by words, rather by attacking militarily these known criminals to end their reign?

Dasuki was arrested and detained for several years on account of embezzlement of funds budgeted for the military. We have a PMB presidency of nearly eight years. What has happened to military budget? Why has banditry become a nationwide problem? What happened to “technically defeated”?

We now know that terrorism is seriously backed by some northern political actors. Such actors are well known, going by comments making the rounds daily. These actors make their living that way. Why would this government not pick them up and permanently shut their mouths?

I once asked why this government would not ask for international technical/military assistance to wipe off this ravaging problem. Some uninformed youths vehemently disagreed. GEJ used it. El Rufai finally suggested it. Why has this government shied away from it, seeing that bandits have taken over large swaths of the north and rule over the places? Some northern governors seem to just respect their spaces by remaining in their impregnable fortresses in their state capitals. Their is a real possibility that they can be kidnapped too.

If that terrorist group could invade Abuja, the seat of national power with such impunity, then it is clear that they can invade Daura some day to fulfil their threat against the president.

The time to act is now. Get all hands on deck. Get the Americans, Chinese, Mercenaries, whoever, to stop this wickedness perpetrated against this sovereign nation, in the name of religion.
