I think it's actually is 5-1-2 at least for diocesan priests. You do your spiritual year in-between. That's about 8 years if everything's goes smoothly. This would imply he got into the senior seminary school at the age of 16.

For religious priests, it takes much longer.

you must spend at least 9 years in studies and service before your ordination. It means he entered at age 15. So it is posible because many children are finishing secondary at age 13 and 14
