A golden chance for China to reclaim its territory back. There is a formula for situations like this, and it is to "Observe, Defend and "Establish. Its how you treat an intruder in your house. You observe him, defend if he attacks you, then establish full control after disposing him off.

China should Observe Pelosi as she lands Taiwan, defend Taiwan if anyone dares question China's authority over the island (eg by shooting Chinese PLA's forces who are rightfully defending its territory), then establish full control of Taiwan from there onwards by flushing off Taiwan rulership once and for all.

China should never fire the first shot (even if they could), and should only fire back if either the US military/Taiwan question their presence there and fire at them first. Taiwan belongs to China, so on what basis would the US question Chinese presence in the island? The US is basically the aggressor here.
