The National Line is in blue in the first map, the Red Line is in red and the Blue Line is in green.

naptu2:

The Red Line is getting an advantage because of the Lagos-Ibadan National Rail Line. Remember that the Red Line and the National Line share the same corridor (they are meant to run side by side for part of their route). So, now that the National Line has been built, the Red Line will use the tracks of the National Line from Ebute Metta to Agbado. This means that all Lagos State has to build right now is the line from Ebute Metta to Oyingbo.

So you see, it has suddenly become very easy to start the Red Line by using the tracks of the National Line (Lagos-Ibadan) pending when the tracks of the Red Line can be built.

As for the Blue Line, the funding problem has been solved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

naptu2:
Aha! Just as I was going to post last year. The Red Line will share tracks with the Federal Government's standard gauge line for a large part of its route. As I thought, the Lagos State Government will simply construct the extension to the Lagoon Bridge. This means that the project can be completed before the specified duration of two years.

The other thing that I was wondering about was the connection to the airport. It seems that there's no longer going to be a spur to the airport but rather a sky walk will be built to connect the rail line and the airport.

This Red Line is even more important than the Blue Line. Governor Sanwoolu said (at the tribute that was held for Governor Jakande) that both lines will be completed in the next two years.

What I was going to post last year was that it'll be very easy for Governor Sanwoolu to get both lines operational. Simply piggy back the Red Line on the Federal Government line and then begin a Blue Line service from Marina to Mile 2. The line from Marina to Mile 2 is almost complete despite the Federal Government interference in 2013 that caused delays.

Some people think that Ambode delayed the construction of that line and basically abandoned it. That's not true. The line stopped at Ijora when Fashola left Office. It was during Ambode's tenure that work began at Marina. The real cause of delays is that the Federal Government blocked the loans in 2013. That created a huge financial crisis and so the work had to progress very slowly because there wasn't enough money to fund the contractors. I'll explain that better when I finish the 3rd Mainland Bridge post (something similar happened to the 3rd Mainland Bridge and that's why something that should have been finished by 1985 was actually finished in 1990).

This is the Red Line route map.

The second map is of the Red Line.

This same project is one of the conduit pipes EscoBAT has been using to siphon Lagos money endlessly. Lagos State started building this so-called light rail before Addis Ababa, yet that Ethiopian city have long completed theirs at less than 10% of what has been spent in Lagos.

The wickedness of BAT knows no bounds. This same grandmaster of corruption who has been sitting on the neck of Lagosians now want to sit on the neck of Nigeria too.

God forbid BAT thing!

Obituarists: Lagos is a former FCT. Babangida paid for the railway since 1990 before moving FCT to Abuja. If there is Seaport and Airport in Anambra, Peter Obi would have constructed a railway from Onitsha to Okija shrine. Tinubu is siphoning Lagos money blablabla.

Thanks for the informative update. Keep it up.

@TOPIC

Great to see. Lagos needs a metro rail across the State ASAP because road transport is now hellish and an absolute nightmare. Nice to see the connection on the red line including an MMIA link .

Which one have you built in your region?. Ordinary table bridge that Ikpeazu managed to complete, he still had to insult your parents saying " they don't have cars yet complaining about flyovers.
Resident doctors have been on strike in Abia for a year over payment of salaries Yet Tinubu is your problem in life. Anambra is the headquarters of gully erosion in Africa, yet Lagos must be pulled down for you to have sense.
Unknown gun men are killing and beheading you in your region, Cubana Chief Priest barely escaped death but Tinubu must be held responsible.
The leaders in your region have turned you into rags but you come to SW to demand for clothes. How shameless!

To show you the sadists from the Sad East we have on Nairaland are the dregs of society and irredeemable scum, check out the YouTube video of impressive work and development of the Lagos Rail mass transit scheme.

Just go to the comment section. Over 100 comments all very positive, patriotic and really praising the efforts of Lagos State. It shows you that the IPOBians who congregate here are the worst, most hateful, most tribalist and most vile. They are pathetic losers.

You better continue laughing because you have no luxury of laughter in your region. If Shinedu and Emeka had stayed in iboland to eat more akpu and abacha made from Cassava, they won't be killed and harvested in Asian prisons for drugs offences.

For those who wants to know. Obi doesn't have any legacy. It is sacrilegious to even compare him to Tinubu.
A crucial part of leadership is foresight. Very few Nigerian politicians can match him in this regard.

This is a Governor of one of their states complaining that Anambra has become a dead city. They collect monthly allocations from FG, never owed security votes and 13% derivation from oil. Where are all these money going to?. Yet they won't hold their Leaders to account but denigrate those of other regions, those regions helping them to survive and send some money back home to their aged parents in the village. These folks are beyond annoying.

They are hateful sadists. How can they ever by happy for anyone as sadists? Below is the meaning of sadism for Nairalanders unaware of what the average IPOBian is i.e a sadist.

Look at related terms below. Does it remind you of a particular Nigerian ethnic group?

Bro, nothing marks IPOBians out as the most hateful and sadistic people in the world more than this thread and how they are the only haters, out of over 300 ethnic groups of Nigeria, trolling malevolently here..

You are hating on something about to be delivered in your own nation that will be an exemplary first in West Africa even the likes of Ghana, that ignorant Nigerians praise non-stop, are casting appreciative and envious glances at?

It says a lot that these people can even hate the first light rail system in West Africa, rather than be patriotically proud of it, because Tinubu worked for it and a SW State is about to deliver it.

Bro, that bridge can collapse and kill 500 people and you will hear nada from them. Literally seconds later they will be attacking Tinubu and Lagos.

Wike Obigbo-Oyigbo massacre is all but forgotten. Imagine if that episode involved a Yoruba?

Under Obi's watch dozens of Igbos were killed and dumped in Anambra rivers with their organs harvested.

Same Obi, the incompetent governor, that historical events has shown is in bed with butchers of their fellow Igbos, like serial killer James Nwafor and his genocidal killer squad, is their messiah today.

Whereas Tinubu and his successors, who uncompromisingly ended grand-scale crime in Lagos, are their biggest enemies. They are a joke people.

Ebot, you are using more than 20yrs to build railway, when other Smaller economy are upgrading to electric trains

Tanzania's Works and Transport ministry last year signed an agreement with South Korea's Hyundai Rotem to deliver 42 electric trains. The trains cruise at a speed of 160 km/h and are running parallel to the old rail.

Intact Lagos started theirs long before Ethiopia that used 4yrs to complete their heavy rail project,

We commend the government of Lagos for such project.

We thank the good people of the South East for their business acumen and ingenuity that have been responsible for the enormous amounts of taxes generated and earned by the state government...

Imagine the level of development that will happen when an astute technocrat like PO becomes the president, this will be mai Mai compared to it.
