A reconciliation meeting scheduled to take place today between Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike's camp and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar's camp failed to take place. A source in Wike's team, who spoke to ThisNigeria, said that the meeting failed to hold due to the failure of Atiku’s team to show up in Port Harcourt. "We were already set to hold the meeting today. People had travelled from far and near for this reconciliation meeting, only for Atiku's team to send a message at the last minute that they would be absent for the meeting due to the homecoming reception being held for the presidential candidate in Yola today. "They claimed that they thought the meeting was scheduled to hold this Friday, hence their decision to attend a homecoming reception instead. "This development has really riled up some of the people who have been putting efforts into ensuring peace among the two politicians as they feel disrespected by Atiku's team. "This has also shown that they (Atiku's camp) have no interest in ending the crisis rocking PDP any time from now because what is more important? Restoring normalcy to the party or a homecoming event that could have held at any other given time? We will keep our fingers crossed but this is not encouraging at all," the source said. ThisNigeria reported that the meeting is part of efforts to reconcile Wike and Atiku as it is being rumoured that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is making overtures to the oil-rich governor of the South-South state. According to a member of the House of Representatives, representing Rivers State, Solomon Bob, the rift between Atiku and Governor Wike was triggered by disinformation, adding that it was the disinformation put out by “Atiku’s men” before and after the party’s primary that contributed to the crisis that rocked the party. The so called Wike Governors are just decieving Wike, they still have meetings with Atiku's camp behind Wike's back , they will decieve foolish Wike same way they decieved him in PDP Presidential Primary. Wike need to go and learn national politics, this is not Rivers state politics where he uses gra gra. Atiku and PDP Governors are silently making chess moves on Wike every day, Wike there is busy ranting, threatening and insulting as usual., thinking some of those PDP Governors are backing him Rivers state indigenes will never vote Tinubu Muslim Muslim ticket or APC ---Quote me anywhere Go and ask Amaechi how he also tried to force Buhari and Osibanjo and APC on Rivers state indigenes in 2015 and 2019, APC lost Rivers state woefully in the Presidential election in both 2015 and 2019. Tinubu Candidacy that is now a Muslim Muslim ticket is Dead on Arrival in Rivers state and the entire south South,it won't fly, we will collect and chop Tinubu money and vote PDP (Atiku) as usual . Even Wike knows himself can not deliver up to 15% of Rivers votes for Tinubu and his Muslim Muslim ticket Wike should please decamp , he has become burden rather than an asset to PDP. PDP is waiting for Wike to decamp or declare support for Tinubu, we will show Wike that since time memorial in Rivers State a state Governor can not influence who we vote for in Presidential election. We are patiently waiting for Wike to man up and come out with his full chest and openly delcare and campaign for Tinubu and APC in Rivers State, his own Political career suicide will be worst than that of Godswill Akpabio after he Wike hands over power as Governor in 2023. PDP will win Presidential election Rivers state again by at least over a million votes as usual.
