Litmus:
Those praising Guinea and badmouthing Nigeria, what part of this did you find confusing:

Essentially:

Nigeria maritime security did it's work , it detected suspicious activities, the ship ran off, Nigeria gave chase. The tanker probably tried to use international law as a means of preventing Nigeria. When the tanker entered Guinea waters, Guinea that was in contact with Nigeria and corporating, used the international law guidelines on territorial waters to, essentially impound the oil tanker. This now enables all concerned to investigate the matter....

stop this bullshit. The deal between the vessel owners and the criminals in the navy and nnpc has clik. But eq guinea forces caught it.

How can this be possible without connivance of govt and security outfits?

A 300,000 ton oil tanker lifting oil from an offshore filling point ?

They just waltzed over to the dispensing point and filled their tanker full and left like that?

Who are these people fooling?

The minister , the NNPC executives , Naval security all have a hand in this.

No country can be this incompetent. This is an inside job.

Period!
The corrupt start at the desk of Buhari,

Racoon:
Imagine such a large vessel docked on our waters, got filled with crude oil and set sail in controversial circumstances until it was halted @ the neighbouring country coastal territory? What a shame for the so called giant of Africa.
Read before you comment, it helps a lot.

Re-read the article and this time clench your teeth, try and look through objective eyes so that the text does not morph into what you want instead of what is there.

The 300,000 dead weight tonnage (dwt) carrier got into a dispute with Nigerian authorities last week and was chased down and detained by the navy in neighbouring Equitorial Guinea.

No Nigeria is not your motherland. You’ve forgotten that you all Igbos/Ibos/igbos now have your Biafra banana republic. The rest of us in Nigeria disown you and don’t want to be associated with you.
Smiles...
What is this one saying?
Nigeria needs Igbo more than IGBO needs Nigeria.

Whosoever that hire the entire world to fight the other is the most inconsequential one to be disowned.

The Coward Principal and Simpleton complex:

You have impounded a ship filled with illegally obtained Nigeria crude oil. You've detained ship crew from Asia. You have your evidence.

Yet some Nigerians are more interested in Fictitious Nigerian insiders that presumably facilitated the foreigners theft of Nigeria crude oil assets. I use the term Fictitious since unless you provide hard evidence in the form of detained Nigeria oil theft facilitators, your accusations are effectively fiction.

By the way , you can as effectively deter oil stealing by handing out stiff sentences to those accepting undocumented oil as those providing undocumented oil. Perhaps we lack the national significance in the international community to not only prosecute foreigners to the fullest extent of the Nigeria law but publicly.

Nigerians continually enable trouble in Nigeria by consistently pointing fingers at one another and ignoring the external trouble fermenters.
