President, Governors, others may now operate foreign accounts

Barring last minute change of mind by the National Assembly, the President, governors and Ministers will soon be allowed to operate foreign accounts.

Others that could own foreign accounts are members of the National Assembly, House of Assembly members, commissioners and other public officers.

The proposal is part of the amendments to the 1999 Constitution by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

With this proposal, such appointees like the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, his Trade and Investment counterpart, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji and other Nigerians from the Diaspora coming home to serve can maintain their foreign accounts.

This man Jonathan isn't hiding his evil and cruel intentions anymore,
not when he know his brainless supporters are there to defend him
with all their might.

If this story is true then I will tell u dat it will not sail through cos d public outcry against such will be overwhelming.Has it come to anyone's notice that most of the changes being said to be proposed by the presidency are not serious efforts at moving the country forward.Thay are all receiving knocks from different quarters.

If you listen to the news lately, that approval had already been granted, which means more money will now be stolen and transfer abroad. in other words illegality is now legal. God save our Country from the hand of this looters of our economy. Politicians are the worst crooks on earth.

This bill is highly regrettable and of great disservice to the nation. It will embolden the would-be looters to stash away siphoned funds in foreign bank accounts.

If the bill is truly aimed at Nigerians in Diaspora coming back to serve the nation then, the bill should seek to mainatain whatever accounts elected/selected government personnel have at resumption of duty.
By so doing, the likes of Okonjo Iweala, Aganga etc can still have access to their foreign bank accounts.
