Boss I have an Honda civic 2006 hybrid, and I don’t know why the battery light is on and isn’t going off, any thoughts or suggestions on this? 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Long story short, your hybrid battery is less than efficient. Get another one asap.

But then, I remember a man that said what caused his own was a blown fuse in the Cabin fusebox. His solution, "I bought around 20 fuses and started replacing them one after the other". It worked for him but didn't for me.

Lovely car though, strangely rugged and the AC na Moscow. If you can, get another battery and bring it back up to speed. DO NOT let them help you bypass anything. If it's bad and irreparable, replace it.
When you go to buy parts, ensure you always add the "hybrid" to it when you're requesting parts. Most of the parts are different from the full petrol engine one of the same year

Yes I was advised, but the rattling isn't even the major issue, so I went to another shop, someone suggested their name on nairaland here, shop name is Nuel and partners auto ltd at adebowale Akure, the car was scanned and he said my crankshaft position sensor wires were connected wrongly, he corrected it but the engine was still taking longer than usual to start up and was still vibrating in drive and misfiring, I was told to test drive it for the day and see if it would start the next day and so I left
The next day it would not start and I called him, he sent one of his apprentices to my house to have a look, the crankshaft code was still there but then the apprentice took out ignition coil on the first plug, stuck a nail and had the other side of the nail on the engine to confirm spark, there was no spark, he did it for the next ignition coil, there was no spark, so he called his boss, and the boss told him to check the fuses.
The apprentice took out my fuses one after the other and stuck them back in, told me none of the fuses was bad, after the check, he started the car and the engine came up immediately, no hard starting, sounded very fine, we drove it to their workshop and it drove really smooth, responded properly to the gas pedal and d vibration was gone, that was two days ago, yesterday I drove a total of 17 miles and the engine ran great, I'm still not so sure the problem is gone but they habe definitely touched where the issue came from, I didn't buy anything only paid for their service.
I am happy and hope this issue never cimes back, in all of this what I noticed is after the first day the issue if hard starting went away the next day (yesterday) I discovered my fan wasn't running when I started the car (the fan is direct so it should always run) the same shop sent me their rewire to fix the fan and the relay was damaged, burned, that's it.
Could fuses not contacting well or a burned fan relay cause issues like hard starting/no start/no spark, engine vibration at idle when it started, and engine cut outs?
@jceeesquare, thanks for replying, the engine isn't GDI it's lambda V6 DOHC engine, an older engine before GDI came.

jceesquare:

I believe you were advised to check the timing chain tensioner for the early morning rattling and not the timing itself.
For the late starting issue, your rewire might be right. If the fuel line does not hold pressure when parked overnight, you'll have delayed starting issues and would have to change your complete fuel pump assembly.
Is yours a GDI engine?

Good evening experts in the house
Please I need your advise. I drive a Corolla 2006 model, the vehicle sucks fuel and emits black smoke. It was scanned and the scan shows the oxygen sensor 1 is not working. I bought a Belgium sensor and fix, still the problem didn't stop.
Again, no catalyst convertor on the vehicle, I went to work it instead of buying the China made. Is it a good decision? Thank you

Yes a partially connected fuse will trigger so many circuit issues.
In automotive school, we were taught to always check all fuses 1st before wrenching.
Good to know your car was fixed miraculously.

Please, what could probably cause occasional hard starts on a Hyundai Sonata? If I start the car in the morning, it runs fine. However, when I park and try to restart it after a while, it has a hard start. If I switch off the car and restart it, the car runs fine again, and there's no engine light code on the car. The mechanic advised me to keep using it until the problem shows itself. Also, the car runs fine.

Did you get any scan code after scanning?

Update on the car. The scanner was brought and they scan the car but I wasn’t around because i have to go to work. So the rewire and the mechanic called me and say it is some melted wires that damaged the brain box and it damaged the part where it regulate fuel to the engine. So the rewire took the brainbox down to ladipo to fix that part of the brain box that got damaged.

Do they fix brainbox ?? And also he said tomorrow, he will buy some of those melted wires and fix it up.

Have you checked the Transmission fluid level, if it's filter is okay and if the sump has not been pushed inwards?

Also, scan and post codes for remote assistance.

Here are some possibilities:

Battery:

Weak battery: Even if the lights come on, the battery might not have enough power to turn the engine over fully. Try jump-starting the car or getting the battery tested/replaced.
Dirty or loose battery terminals: Corrosion or loose connections can prevent the battery from delivering enough power. Clean the terminals and tighten the connections.
Starter:

Faulty starter: The starter is responsible for turning the engine over. If it's malfunctioning, the engine won't start. This might be accompanied by clicking or grinding noises when you try to start.
Ignition system:

Faulty spark plugs: Worn or fouled spark plugs can prevent the engine from sparking properly. Check the spark plugs and replace them if necessary.

Faulty ignition coils: These coils provide the spark to the spark plugs. If they're faulty, the engine won't spark and start.

Fuel system:

Clogged fuel filter: A clogged fuel filter can restrict the flow of fuel to the engine. It's essential to replace the fuel filter according to the recommended maintenance schedule.

Good day all,

Please I have a 2007 Automatic Toyota Yaris, petrol, which uses an electric throttle

The issue is that it will accelerate to 70 or 80mph and won't go past that level no matter how u press the gas pedal, it will just become sluggish/heavy

Mechanic said maybe we should change the gas pedal or throttle body

So this morning I scanned the car with my portable Bluetooth scanner
And got 2 error codes
1. P0016 crankshaft position sensor
2. P1585 throttle control unit malfunction
(I have attached the scan result)

Kindly advice on the first steps

Good morning. I own a Toyota Camry 2008.
Most times when I reverse early in the morning, the car makes some noise around the tyre and then when I drive it stops and maybe when I use the brake often in speed bumps, it makes noise.

So I went to the mechanic and I was told that the shaft and hub was the problem. I changed the shaft and they fixed the hub.

Just less than 5 hours of driving, it started again.
What could be the problem.
It’s getting worrisome for me cos i don’t know what the problem is and I fear it shouldn’t affect something else in the vehicle.

I’d really appreciate a response.
Thank you 🙏🏾

Your mechanic should be flogged.
From your description, you seem to be having a brake screeching noise. If that's the case, inspect your brake pads, lock pin and or brake shinguards, and also brake discs. Replace and or adjust defective parts.

Occasional hard starts on a Hyundai Sonata with the symptoms you described can have several potential causes. Here are some possibilities, starting with the most likely:

Fuel System:

Vapor lock: This occurs when fuel in the lines boils due to high temperatures, creating vapor bubbles that disrupt fuel flow. It's more common in hot weather and may explain why the first start of the day is fine but later restarts are difficult.
Clogged fuel filter: A clogged filter restricts fuel flow to the engine, making it harder to start. Consider your car's mileage and maintenance history to assess the likelihood of this.
Faulty fuel pump: A weak or failing pump may not deliver enough fuel pressure for easy starting.
Ignition System:

Spark plugs: Worn or fouled spark plugs can weaken the spark needed for ignition, causing hard starts. Check their condition and consider replacing them if necessary.
Ignition coils: Failing coils can disrupt spark delivery to specific cylinders, leading to rough starts.

Temperature sensor: A faulty coolant temperature sensor might send incorrect information to the engine computer, leading to an improper fuel mixture for warm starts.
Battery: A weak battery can struggle to crank the engine, especially after a short shutdown when it hasn't fully recovered. Get the battery tested to ensure it's within acceptable voltage range.

So if after all this routine check and it doesn't solve your problem...then go for a scan.

Prioritize the crankshaft position sensor (P0016): This appears to be the more likely culprit for your specific symptoms, including the inability to accelerate beyond 70-80 mph. Replace the faulty sensor and clear the code. Test drive the car to see if the issue resolves.
Next, investigate the throttle control unit (P1585): If the engine performance issue persists after replacing the crankshaft position sensor, consider cleaning the throttle body (a possible cause for the P1585 code). If the issue remains, further diagnosis and possible replacement of the throttle control unit might be necessary.

This problem sounds like something to do with the air temp sensor inside the car. Your HVAC works based on based on a feedback loop to tell the compressor to pump more or less refrigerant depending on the temperature in the cabin and your selected temperature. When the sensor fails, it will falsely tell the compressor that it should pump less refrigerant as the desired cabin temperature has been reached.
There's a duty cycle solenoid inside the compressor that changes the angle of the swashplate for less or more stroke depending on whether it is demanded to pump less or more refrigerant respectively. Before I start to suspect the solenoid, I would start with this temp sensor mentioned. There's another temp sensor sitting on the condenser but this rarely fails.

What you can do by yourself is to locate the sensor. Check if there's dirt or debris covering it. Clean it and see if there will be any improvement.
Please ensure to bring feedback to the group for someone else to benefit from your experience.

Thanks,

AutoJando
