@ OP where will they play in the compound or on the street --- because unlike those days, there's been a rise in the number of gbomo-gbomos, ritualists, kidnappers, and just plain mad people. If the kids were in a secured compound, I'd certainly encourage playing outside the house. Its healthy and improves social-relationship skills. |

Because children of these days are too lazy. See them growing fat and unhealthy everyday. Watching football cannot replace playing football. Playing football is combination of fun and exercise. |

BABE!: Kids back in the day also had technology with which to play, but it still did not stop them from playing outside. Aside from laptops, there has really been no completely new technology, although the technology has improved. We had video games growing up, we had walkmans, etc. So the reason is that kids nowadays are just lazy. |

Because today's children are lazy. And it's due to technology. Children today would rather work their fingers and thumbs over a keyboard or keypad that run, jump and play as children did years ago. That's also why there are so many obese and physically unfit children nowadays, at least in the U.S. |
