5 Things That Made Lagos. by Vulturereloaded: 12:23pm On Sep 13, 2022
For long, some people have been using lagos to campaign for Tinubu. They said he built lagos and all Nigerians began to migrate to lagos, because of Tinubu.

A question was asked on another thread, why Nigerians migrated to Abuja as well, and nobody was able to answer.

We all know that IGR moves with people. The more people that migrate to a place, the more taxes, and more revenue.

Today we will discuss these 5 things, try to remove them from lagos, and them find out what Tinubu did in lagos. That will make a Nigerian leave another state to relocate to lagos.

Former Capital status

I dont need to duel more on the issue of the federal capital status until those who say Tinubu Built lagos, and made Nigerians migrate, tell me why Nigerians also migrated to Abuja.

And why Tinubu insisted on owning a property in a choice area in Abuja, as part of his imoral eternal life pension law.

Embassies

Most countries have their embassies in capitals of countries. Since lagos was once the capital, the US and Uk Embassies are located there. As at today, the Embassies in lagos represent Souther Nigeria, while that of Abuja represents the North.

Most people from the South have to travel to lagos to apply, because the have relatives in lagos, while those from the North apply from Abuja.

We all know the number of Nigerians that apply for Visa daily. Imagine half of that number applying from lagos. This means they have to travel to lagos, transport within lagos, eat and patronise hotels in lagos.

Why wont you invest in hotel or propery business in a state that has huge daily influx of Nigerians?

International airport

After applying for Visa, those who are successful will have to travel through the lagos international airport. This means that after the visit lagos for application, they will still have to return to lagos to fly.

This means that taxi drivers and hotel owners in lagos, will probably make more money that their colleagues in other states.

Seaport

Aside the points listed above that already drove Nigerians to lagos, Nigeria is an import dependent nation, and lagos ports account for 60%-70% of cargo clearance in Nigeria.

This is because lagos ports are closer to the ocean, making it cheaper for containers to land in lagos.

Also lagos ports are bigger and deeper, making it better for bigger ships to birth.

Also, lagos ports are the only export gateway out of Nigeria. No matter what you produce and where you produce for export, it can only be shipped out of Nigeria through Appapa and Tincan ports.

This in addition to the reason above, makes lagos the economic capital of Nigeria.

Border to West Africa

Lagos also has a border to west African countries, this means that most traders in west Africa will move goods to and fro lagos borders.

Why wont an importer reside in lagos, when its cheaper to clear container, and distribute goods in west Africa?

The flow of traffic to and fro the border also generates revenue, as those who come to by and sell, pay direct and indirect taxes.

Of all the things i listed Above, which of them did TINUBU influence, as they are all controlled by federal government, though generating revenue for the state?

If you remove all the above, what did tinubu do, that will make any Nigerian want to leave their state and move to lagos?

With all this advantage, Lagos state and Anambra were the only states in the South that did not need bailout, when Buhari took over.

This should tell you that Peter Obi would have done far more with lagos resources.

I am sorry, sir but you are not using your head properly.Beg your pardon to educate you a little, sir.

Nigeria has all it takes to become a first or even at the least,a second world country but there was no prudence and good management from the leadership.

Addd up the money gotten from FAAC and IGR of Delta state,Rivers state etc and you will find out that these monies are more than that of Lagos state but been squandered with bad management.
Delta got about 92 billion from 13% derivatives
in August this year only.

A man that governed such a state with huge revenue, still could not let go.

He put his daughter in charge of markets, son in charge of adverts, wife senator, while he collects 10% tax.

All that was not enough, he implemented the lagos pension law that would pay him forever. A law that fashola considered imoral and refused to benefit from.

However Tinubu benefited till date, it was until the ENDSARS movement, that Sanwolu pretended to stop the payment, to calm the nerves of the people.

Peter Obi on the other hand, left the states finance in a better position than he met it, and never collected a dime in pensions.

We are not talking allocation. We are talking IGR and Migration.

How many people fly to delta state to apply for Visa or fly out of Nigeria in day?

How many people moved to delta state because of allocation, like the moved to lagos because of Importation?

Today Lagos is revered as the only state economy competing with country no mater the position you gave to it. Where is Anambra on that list ?

Sensible Nigerians should not that Lagos as a former capital was left to deteriorate under military rule to a point dead body litters the street of Lagos. Tinubu this Igbo dead brain seek to denigrate took care of that. It should also be noted this clown tribe of Igbo led by Abaribe were against special status for Lagos so that the infrastructure the FG left behind could be maintained but igbos out of irredeemable hate sis not allow the bill to pass

Seaport - the Seaport this Igbo bigot talked about not a single kobo is given to Lagos in it generated revenue while trucks continue to mount pressure n destroy roads Lagos build at enormous rate. The wretched 5 Igbo state this mofo came from share a part of the revenue from the port even benefiting more than Lagos.

Lagos Border - other cities borders different country in Nigeria. This hopeless OP state also borders Cameroon but till Jesus return none of his Igbo state will till eternity with up to Lagos in development, instead Lagos as been taking in refugees from his cursed state on daily basis. Tonnes of refugees will be offloaded by Ifesinachi GUO GIG Ekedilichukwu Chisco ABC Ekesons Ifesinachi Peace n other today while this oaf continue his senseless rant about Lagos putting undue pressure on Lagos infrastructure.

Airport - Abuja should be Nigeria capital for close to 3 decades now if not more yet Lagos remain the flight hub in Nigeria this is aside several Igbo state having airport that can not achieve anything significant.

OP hate Lagos Tinubu Yoruba all you like 100 of your Igbo fathers can not stop Tinubu's ambition nor can your hate.

60% of Nigerians have visited Lagos for one of the reasons stated above, will u say the same for Anambra or any other state in Nigeria?

So what role did Tinubu play in the 5 reasons listed above?

Is he the reason for the international airport or for visa application or he built the seme border?

Or mandated all Nigerias export to go through lagos ports?

5 Things that would Unmake and Destroy Lagos State

1- Continuous Looting of the State Treasury even after leaving office....... Tinubu

2- Godfatherism and Dictatorial Tendencies....
.... Tinubu

3- Toutism and Agberoism as a form of employment for Lagos State Youths...... Tinubu

4- The Continuous flow of Illicit Drugs into and through Lagos State via the Drug Trafficking Network created by Tinubu.

5- The Stupidity and Foolishness of the Original Lagos State Indegenes to still allow a Non-Indegene ( Tinubu) to continuously Oppress them while giving them Crumbs to eat .

The Original Lagos State Indegenes must Rise up against the Pharaoh that has held them in Captivity for so Long.

What has the human dev capital BTW the 2 states as of then are you blind ?

Will you argue this shekpe joint discussion with PDP via Adamawa are you blind ?

Lagos has a very functional sea port where goods are cleared are you blind ?

If Anambra had a functional sea port like that do you think someone will pay transport from Anambra to Lagos just to clear his goods are you blind ?

When was the 24 plus embassies in Lagos established are you blind ?

Peter helped oko poly because he loves education
What happened to laspothech land under Tinubu are you blind ?

I did not finish that because I was busy.
Now,what drives Lagos is innovation, foresight, prudence and topnotch management not strictly population as undiscernible people always say.

Lagos does not collect money from the ports,Airport,Custom etc which are making trillions for the FG but being mismanaged because the leadership was/his bereft of ideas.

Awolowo did not have ports,Airport,Custom etc but he managed the Western Region so well that people began to troop to Ibadan which was the richest and most developed part in Nigeria then.
Ibadan had all the firsts not only in Nigeria but Africa.

I didnt like Tinubu from the outset but when I reseached into his life and antecedents,I got to know he is shoulders and head above the other aspirants in management of resources both living and non living.

Since the advent of Tinubu in the governance of Lagos,he and his team have been paying WAEC (and NECO) fees for students without fail.
They have been running free education....primary to college...since 1999.

They have built more number of University like secondary schools since 1999 than any state.

Most states' workforce is between 2million,3 million but Lagos has more than 7 million workers.
Lagos is the only state that does not owe workers and pensioners like the other states and Nigeria.

Lagos has been paying 5000 naira more than the minimum wage since inception.Any other state that wants to copy may no be consistent because of bad management and corruption.

Tinubu and his team have made Lagos,a country in the country called Nigeria.

Tinubu facilitated the Lekki seaport. If it is left for Tinubu and his team,I am sure that Lagos will be richer than all the countries in Africa if Tinubu is at the helms of affairs.
Tinubu has always had this midas touch that grows both living things and non living things.
Vote wisely.Vote Tinubu so that Nigeria can enjoy exponential growth, good economy, stability and peace like Lagos.

Few years down the lane when people continue to troop into Lagos you foolish soul while give Peter Obi the credit not Tinubu.

Is Peter Obi brain dead that he can only figure out how to loot n take Anamabra state to Pandora offshore account instead of building enviable cities that will drive people to his state. I head the bastard is funding Ipob to chasing people out of the East with Monday sit in hell currently being experience in your wretched Alaigbo.

Do you know the number of Nigerians that entered lagos today, to attend Visa Interview and Biometrics against Tomorrow?

Do you know how many entered lagos today to fly abroad tomorrow?

Do you know how many will fly in today and travel to other states tomorrow ?

Do you know how many entered lagos today to clear containers?

Do you know how entered today, enroute to Cotonou, togo and Ghana?

Do you know how many are coming in from African countries today?

They will all enter taxi tomorrow morning, they will all stay in hotels today, they will all eat today, they will all buy credit today.

Both the hotel, food vendor, taxi drivers all pay taxes. This population alone boosts economic sector of lagos.

So where is the technology innovation in this?

As you researched about Tinubu, did you dig into the drugs and forfeited $460,000 in US? Or how he had no car and became the richest man in lagos?

Did you study his immoral pension law, which fashola refused to benefit from?

You still dont get it,do you?It is not only about population but governance.Does South Africa have your population?
India is way more populous than USA.
Do you know the population of UK compared to Nigeria?
I am a graduate.I read Economics and later went to Unilag to read Pure Maths.
I just dont do things with sentiments.
Go learn a little about tax.
It is not an easy feat to be able to get enough people under the tax net.You have to be innovative and prudent.
From 1960 to 2015,Nigeria was able to get only 13 million people under its tax net.
When Buhari came, maybe with the help of his team...maybe Tinubu too,Nigeria had gotten 35 million people under its tax net now. This is accoding to Ajuleri....Special Assistant to Buhari. He was on channels tv.
We have about more than 10 states including Abia,Imo etc utilising Lagos tax firm,Alpha Beta now.Even Ghana and Sierraleone.

After collecting the tax,the next thing is if they can be prudent about it like Lagos.

A lot of states are learning how Lagos did it.
UK lives almost mainly on tax but they very small population if compared to Nigeria.
We just need somebody with innovation, great ideas, good management of resources like Tinubu and we would begin to desire to be a Nigerian.

You forgot to add IGBO

You studied all this and could not identify the key things that pioneered lagos migration?

You did mathematics and statics, and you could not do a simple calculation of number of daily visitors to lagos and the impact it has on states revenue?

You know people from all over the world visit dubai yearly for tourism, you can calculate how much dubai makes from the influx of people, but you cant calculate the impact of these strategic areas listed above has on lagos?

You are the one who have reduced your intelligence to fit into Tinubu's support requirements.

If more people enter lagos a day, it means more food, toiletries, movement, fuel, diesel etc will be consumed in lagos than every other state.

Many companies because of this traffic and economic activities, make lagos the headquarters of their business.

This means more imployment and Nigerians and migration.

Doesnt the influx of Nigerian students in UK have significant impact in their economy?

I have listed things that drove Nigeria to lagos and Tinubu have no influence over it.

The question is, outside the things i listed, what did Tinubu do that will make a Nigerian to leave his state and Migrate to lagos?
