Exactly.

The idea that celebrating a wedding means poverty or divorce immediately afterwards is getting stale. The same people against it would do something more lavish if they had the money to.

Like, mannn. There's no standard. Just do you. cheesy

broke men association slogan.
oga bring out money & do things the right way it's done.
it's a once in a lifetime something, & it deserves to be done well.

Instead of keep waiting, sleeping with each other, using different kind of pregnancy protection.
I think this is the best.

Wen the money comes, cook food for people to it.

Is simple

Which way is the right way? You mean gathering the whole world to feed and entertain them? But you should know that view and taste differs, the fact that some people like crowd and show off doesn't make it the right thing. Someone else may like privacy and hate crowd plus what happens to spending wisely and judiciously. As long as they happy with their choice, to me that's what qualifies it as the right thing

That's just it. Don't understand when having lavish weddings became a sign of fake love.

Some things like weddings are better done "properly" though. You won't be young and getting married everyday.

There is no "don(ing) well" my dear.
A wedding must not be lavish. If the couple want a lavish event, fine. Else, the rites alone are enough!

Indeed, wedding is not expensive. Many people are not married today not because they can't take care of a family but because they want an elaborate wedding ceremony.

This Nigerian Lady shared the below photos from her simple wedding ceremony.

Dem no dey use money money, na you just wan show off.
This is how wedding is supposed to be, not some show off jamboree organised with borrowed funds that will leave you poorer than you were, just to impress people who don't give a Bleep about you.
