I do wonder why tax payers have to shell out cash to protect "VIPs"? Tax payers don't owe these individuals any favors. This is especially true when police man power should be deployed to fight crime. What's stopping these rich people from hiring private security guards? Is there nobody providing security services. Are they not allowed to carry the guns around? If the alternative exist people will take it.

If the government is smart they should let the private security industry thrive like South Africa. Its clear the police aren't doing a good job tackling crime. Loosening gun ownership restrictions would make it easier for individuals to protect themselves. Its obvious the criminals have access to whatever weapons they want. Its the average person who left suffers while politicians campaign on solving insecurity.

Thanks for bringing this vexing issue into sharp focus.

Can a country like Nigeria, which has undersized police force, really afford to have 221 officers guarding each state governor?

In a country that has only 306,000 serving officers; how is it possible that over 100,000 of them are reportedly attached to individuals like god of Man (goM) Suleiman. How can this be right?

Thus, the citizen/police ratio in Nigeria, with a population of about 170 million people, stands at one police officer for every 555 citizen, or about 180 police officers per 100,000 people.

This falls short of the global average, according to data from the United Nations, which indicated that it should be about 340 police officers per 100,000 people. The UN also recommends a minimum police strength of 220 per 100,000 people.

Lol don't get defensive you're not being attacked unless you're Tinubu.

Omo I stated my opinion on the matter and you qouted me and responded differently from what I said and you are saying I am being defensive. I never said you are attacking me but don't quote me if you are not going to say something reasonable or related to what I wrote.

It's the same danger you get from police. Security is regulated by the government. They would just have to get licensed and trained. I would argue it's less dangerous since they have state backing to be criminals extorting people or be bullies. What do you think they'll start doing?
Now how does this concern me?

You're sounding slow now. Now on top of being being sensitive You're you can't tell when someone agrees with you? The Comment simply concurs with the fact the government is the main reason private security sucks.

When you put the stats in context it blows my mind how anyone thinks it good idea to be renting out man power. The a crime wave going on. I'm honestly surprised a pastor would need so much security. It just shows people are ruthless.
