Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has received hundreds of defectors into the People’s Democratic Party in the state.

Amongst the political parties received by the governor are the All Progressives Congress, African Democratic Congress , Zenith Labour Party, and other political parties in the state.

The Governor who received the defectors at the Adamasingba stadium in Ibadan assured that the new decampees will enjoy all the rights and privileges enjoyed by other members of the party.

In his address, the State Party Chairman, Dayo said that party believes in equity and saying the newly received members would not be marginalized in the new fold.
Among the defectors were the former Speaker of the state house of assembly and a chieftain of ADC, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, a former Governorship aspirant under the platform of the APC, Joseph Tegbe, former Chairman State Pilgrim Welfare Board Muslim Wing, Sheik Taofeek Akewugbagold, and the leader of the Liberation Alliance Movement, Pastor Taiwo Otegbeye.
