Slapping Your Child might look like good because children stop what they were doing when they got a slap. But it isn't a good choice for discipline. That's because it doesn't help children learn about self control or appropriate behaviour.
Children mostly feel fear, anger, confuse and sadness when they are hit. They might also lose trust in parents. They usually can't think about what they have done wrong or understand why they are getting punished.
Alternative to slapping;
Having clear rules is the first step. Rules let your child know what behaviour you expect.
If your child is behaving in a way you don't like, it is advisable to look at what's going on in your child's environment. Check what they're watching on TV, have they made new friends etc.
Sometimes just distracting them from a challenging situation is enough to reduce bad behaviour.
If you manage your own anger frustration in a positive or healthy ways... It will serve as a template for your child to use in managing his or her anger. It more about you than your child. You need to learn self control as a parent inorder to model for your children...
What other thing do you do instead of spanking... Let's interact because we're all here to learn.
