The American, British, Singaporean juustice systems for example with emphasis on America here practice what you might call guilty until proven innocent so if they knock on your door, better believe you're in serious trouble because they've most likely been investigating your case for years and have gotten all the evidence they need. They have around 97% conviction rate with the remaining percentage going to things like this plea bargain and asset forfeiture
