The former minister says the statements accredited to him were misrepresented

Former Tourism Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has retracted his remarks against former President Olusegun Obasanjo, claiming the reports of his comments were “misconstrued.”

Fani-Kayode had openly defended former military ruler, Ibrahim Babangida, last week in Babangida’s row with Obasanjo in which they labeled each other “fools”.

In a widely reported statement to the media, Fani-Kayode said Obasanjo, under whom he served as Aviation and later Tourism Minister, was not as protective of his loyalists as Babangida.
