Three communities were affected by the over flowing of the Lugu Dam

Wurno Local Government Council of Sokoto State has evacuated more than 6,000 persons and 4,000 livestock from three communities as a result of the over flowing of the Lugu Dam.

The Council Chairman, Shehu Chacho, said the affected communities are Gidan-Bango, Gidan-Kamba and Gidan-Modi. He said residents evacuated and their livestock were accommodated at the Staff Housing Estate in Wurno and other public buildings in the area.
