The Sultan of Sokoto , Alhaji Sa’ad
Abubakar III, on Saturday urged Muslims in the country to look for the new Moon
of Shawwal on Monday , Aug. 29 .
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that this is contained in
a statement signed by Ahmed Abdulkadir on behalf  of the Chairman ,
Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Prof. Abubakar Gwandu  and
given to newsmen in Sokoto.
According to the statement , this is to inform the Muslim Ummah
that Monday , 29th of August , 2011 which is equivalent to 29 th day
of Ramadan , 1432 AH shall be the day to look for the birth of the new
moon for the month of shawwal , 1432 AH.
