Presidential libraries are private projects funded by an outgoing president. Most times, they are built after the president has left office.

Obasanjo's presidential library was privately funded. Well meaning Nigerians, high networth individuals, and powerful friends donated money for it. It is never built with government funds.

FMC on the other hand is a government project. Siting 2 in the president's home state can only be due to the well known nepotic nature of Buhari. This is the reason his daughter was appointed into the Board of NNPC. It's just his normal nepotism.

I am sorry but do you want to measure the population in katsina to Ogun state? Do you know what the ratio of doctors to population in the north vs South? Do you know the huge disparity between bed space in the south vs the North?

Just Google the UN data for South and Northern Nigeria. Are these peoples lives worth less?

And perchance as a President he decides to site a good hospital in his area - so what? If all Nigerian leaders since 1960 had done same maybe we would have a better balance of medical facilities around the country.

Would OBJ or even Obama have received those funds from donors if not for their stature? What you fail to understand because many of you have never held high office is that presidents and governors receive tons of unsolicited funds.

Some of you do not even know that every president in Nigeria has a special allocation of crude called the presidential allocation. This has been on since 1981. OBJ received it, Yaradua, GEJ and Buhari received it. It exist absolutely free of politics.

The system we run means no President needs to orchestrate anything.

Bro you funny.. presidential allocation is for the expenses of the Pres and vice. It is for feeding et El and not for hospital. Hospital budget is under state house clinic and can't be used for anything else. That's why it's called a budget..

FMCs are FG project and not a northern project. That's why we have the primary, secondary, tertiary healthcare system.
You should hold your state and local govt for it's failure to provide and also equip PHCs and also refusal to build SHCs. The secondary health care centres are your general hospital which is handled by your state govt. The design was for every community to have a PHC, every local govt area to have at least one general hospital in each district which is the secondary health centres, while the university teaching hospitals, specialist centres, FMC handles critical health issues. Go and study it..
For there not to be at least a secondary health system (general hospital) in daura says a lot bout the government there.
For kastina to already have an FMC which is now upgraded to be a teaching hospital is even a plus compared to other FMCs.
Now adding another FMC to the state when other state doesn't have is practically bad. Maternal mortality issues can be handled by the general hospitals while critical issue sent to the tertiary unit.

And secondly, using #500m for an FMC is practically a joke... Aside building, equipment alone is gulp billions except they want to do another state house clinic without paracetamol in daura..

Oga try and educate yourself. Stop justifying nepotism and corruption. Siting federal institutions in Nigeria is based on federal character not population. Every state should should have at least 1 before a 2nd is built in the one state.

If population was to be the criteria, then states like Kano should have 10 FMC and Lagos should have 15.
