The E-auction was supposed to put internal control and increase transparency in the auction system likewise reduce corruption, but that will mean people like Atiku in the customs will not see corrupt money to enjoy and people like Tinubu who enjoy buying the vehicles through people like Atiku in the customs will not see vehicles to buy at nonsense price, so they both sabotage the system to ensure it does not work.

The same way they are trying to sabotage the election so that Peter Obi will not make Nigeria work - but they will fail - Amen

This is a complete act of sabotage, they don't want online processing, they preferred manual process where corruption will strive. The head of custom and all officers in IT department should be suspended. Also the contractor who handles the contract should be blacklisted. This is only thing that will check any act of sabotage, but in a situation where the perpetrations are not shown the way out of establishment, the corruption will continue.

This report is not far from the truth. To start with, there is a need to urgently amend the Customs and Excise management act that gives the CGC absolute powers to dispose off forfeited items anyhow he pleases. That law doesn’t give room for transparency and accountability. We need a new law that will clearly spell out the procedure for disposing off various kinds of seized items. Hopefully, National Assembly will adopt some of the recommendations we made regarding this in the coming AuGF’s annual report.

Apart from petrol, all seized items are auctioned/allocated at Customs HQ. The corruption is at your hqs where the big ogas simply allocate these vehicles to fronts and cronies. There is a need for a transparent and open auctioneering system for seized items. The current system is corrupt and suboptimal.

That is no point in seizing certain things. Vehicles are not harmful products. Fines are ok. They should pay them within stipulated time.
