INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION

PRESS RELEASE

ATTACK ON OUR STATE HEADQUARTERS IN IMO STATE

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Imo State, Professor Sylvia Uchenna Agu, has reported that our State Headquarters office in Owerri was attacked by unknown gunmen. The incident occurred at about 3.00am today Monday 12th December 2022.

The attack affected the part of the building occupied by the Election and Party Monitoring (EPM) Department and one official utility vehicle (a Toyota Hilux pickup van) was burnt.

The response of the security and emergency services (the Fire Service) curtailed further damage to the building and other assets of the Commission. No critical election materials were destroyed. There were also no casualties involving staff of the Commission.

This is third attack on the Commission's facilities in Imo State in less than two weeks following the earlier attacks on our Orlu LGA office on Thursday 1st December 2022 and Oru West LGA office on Sunday 4th December 2022.

Our Imo State Headqurters is located in the centre of the Owerri, the State capital, between a court and the State secretariat. This is therefore yet another systematic attack targetted at the Commission's assets across the country, more so on the day that the collection of Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs) commences nationwide ahead of the 2023 General Election.

Festus Okoye Esq.
National Commissioner & Chairman
Information and Voter Education Committee
Monday 12th December 2022

No blafia ... No Erection

The non-challant citizens of that region are either presently in Lagos dragging land with the indigenes or on social media blaming their misfortune on Buhari, Tinubu, and APC.

IMO state governor is scared of BVAS. He was the o e that has a case in court against the use of BVAS. Reading what his people write online about him, who
Would be surprised if the attacks on INEC’s facilities in his state are not from the people we think they are.

Any evil person with money can now perpetrate attacking INEC facilities in the name of UGM. We suspect that they want to scare south east INEC from conducting elections in the zone that is Peter Obi's base. They are afraid of the 100% victory for Obi.

The evil people must fail this time. Peter Obi would win 100% in south East and South South and 80% in North Central and 60% in South West. Then 25% in the other regions.

PDAPC in panic!
They thot buy burning the BVAS systems down to give room to ballot snatching and rigging in the south east the people will give in.

Ofcourse they have weaponized hunger and unemployment so they can control our youths, (especially the greedy and uninformed youths)

But 2023 is the year the indivisibility of this nation will be tested.

If you think the threat of blood on election day in southeast is stronger than the daily genocide perpetuated by herdsmen then you are in for a nuclear annihilation.

We have found a little hope!
Obi represent forwardness I would have given it to osinbajo but when I see the level of poverty among Lagos indigenes and extortion going on in Lagos state I simply conclude Tinubu wants to only expand his cartel.

I will vote obi if you like Carry himars to come threaten me for southeast, come it's better to die for what you believe and what is right.

They shouldn't hesitate to shoot any bastard looking to destabilize next year's elections, and any one of them caught alive should be used to get information regarding their sponsors.

It's a fact that a particular political party is trying to reduce the votes of their opponents. One of them even said he's ready to fight dirty to become president, and that same man refused to sign an agreement for the election to be free and fair but his urchins will come here to divert attention to another candidate

Why would it be on the day collection of PVCs commenced these gun men would surface.

Remember the CDS had raised the alarm about Politicians trying manipulate the armed forces.

This is their plan B,after all it happened in Osun and Ogun lately so it's not an IPOB matter.

When people say that politics is a dirty game, it is not a cliche because politics is really dirty and stinking, and for you to be a politician (a politician in the limelight and not some backyard honorable) you will need to get dirty or play dirty.

The amount of money that gets wasted in the quest for political ambition and campaigns, the amount of betrayal and backstabbing that goes on in politics and political campaigns, the level of lies, dishonesty and fake promises that men who are expected to be upstanding and exhibit the highest level of integrity in the society tell just to grasp power and satisfy their political quest and ambition is ridiculous.

lolz...it's funny that those "non-challant" citizens are buying all the choice properties in Nigeria, including in your lagos, while you're here ranting ceaselessly. Keep being foolish, it's just a matter of time before one of your siblings will sell your family land to one of those "non-challant citizens"
