How much do Uber drivers make weekly in Nigeria? This is one of the questions many people need answers to. This is because they will like to make money from the venture. We know that in Nigeria one of the great ways people make money in Nigeria is through transportation. Because transportation has been in high demand in Nigeria, so many companies have opened different transportation systems. They are predominantly in Lagos, Abuja, and other states to ease people of the stress of public transport, and also to beat traffic. If you will like to start as an Uber Driver, here at Hub for Jobs we give updates about salaries, and that will be the focus.

How much do Uber Drivers Make weekly in Nigeria?

Knowing the exact amount an Uber driver makes weekly in Nigeria can be tricky. This is because different factors are put into consideration before their weekly salary can be calculated. Let us take, for instance, a driver who was able to complete 15 trips will surely earn more than a driver who only had 5 trips throughout the whole day.

How much do Uber drivers make, is also determined by the time each driver works for. If an Uber driver works for 12 hours, such will make money more than a driver who only worked for 2 hours. For instance, an Uber driver that works in Lagos will work for an average of 10 hours per day. Imagine he is always plying the busy sides of Lagos, like Victoria Island, Lagos Mainland, Lekki, and other places will be making around N50,000 – N70,000 per week.

This doesn’t exclude other factors like Surge, the number of rides, distance, and other determining factors. If a driver spent the same number of hours in Abuja, he might be making around N35,000 – N50,000 in a week, also depending on different factors. The fact remains that, Uber drivers make more money while working in Lagos compared to Abuja.

Lagos is a busy place compared to Abuja. There are more traffic and stiffer competition. It is easy to benefit from Surge commissions in Lagos than in Abuja. This explains the reasons why Lagos drivers will earn more than Abuja drivers.

How are the earnings calculated?

According to the Uber website, wondering how much you can make as an Uber Driver, these are the various factors that determine the amount you can earn for each trip you make.

Standard fee: a fee you get for every completed trip.

Surge: this is when you check the map to find out where there is high demand for riders. You will be able to earn more on your standard fee. The surge will always appear on the map as red, orange, and yellow during busy times. To earn from surge, go to the colored places, stay online, and accept your next trip. Your surge earnings will reflect immediately after you finish your surge trip.

Minimum trip earnings: every city has a minimum amount you can earn for any trip. Your earnings reflect the effort you always put in, likewise on short trips.

Booking fee: riders pay to help cover safety, regulations, and any operational costs such as insurance.

Service fee: the funds here are used for app development and customer support. FYI, Uber Drivers do not have job application CVs

Cancellations: there is a cancellation fee if the rider decides to cancel the request.

Op that's a lie from the pit of hell

I have a friend here in Abuja who does Uber
He makes average of 15-20k on a daily basis, now calculate this for 6 days, cause he doesn't work on Sundays,

Average he earns up to 95-100k weekly. And he told me that he has other friends too in the business who makes more, he didn't dedicate his time 100% for Uber as he has other work that he does too.

Your analysis is very wrong, you don't go about with figures without actually going to the field to take a survey from Uber drivers from the two cities u are using as a case study.

Oh nice. During surge, many people can make a lot of money on Bolt and on Uber. Good work and you can work when you want. It's almost like the Uber Driver work is like working remotely in Nigeria.
