the woman saying "have mercy on me"....its the women themselves that choose those types of men that beat them up often because they are attracted to them....
Sometimes it is not what we want. Some dangerous people appear the most gentle and until we get burnt we will never know who they truly are.
Sometimes when i see people say women always go for looks and money i smile, i dont even argue.
Sometimes we go for people we think we can build with and at the end, it proves to be a facade.

that is selfishness. My personal happiness...

There is absolutely no marriage without challenges. Sometimes it's very beautiful, and sometimes it's very sad. So do we jump out anytime it feels sad??
Feel sad? Challenges? LOL.... undecided

So, when Osinachi's husband was reduced to kicking his wife and beating her to a pulp on regular basis, you considered that what--- challenges or feeling sad in marriage? undecided

If that woman had factored her individual happiness as being of importance in that marriage --- what you consider selfish ---, she would still be alive today and her kids would still have their mother around to care for them. So, you are saying she did good for not jumping out while she was still alive? undecided

So you prefer divorce?
Don't mind that guy or girl (because judgements S(he) passes are clouded by emotions rather than logic). S(He) finds it easy to call others' opinions bogus because those do not match his/her own drawn emotional curves. Let give it to him/her, S(he) could quote history, S(he) could give us cause and effects, but his/her conclusions are bereaved of progress or solutions. That could be a pointer of product of broken home. I know people do change, but often times we get to choose our life partners. That man that beat his wife too must have been a product of what we want to avoid; Divorce. We need these celebrities to be careful of the information they feed the young ones. I hope we see past the past 50 years statistics and provide solution for the next 50 years

No sane person will support physical abuse. Most guys that abuse their partners only need rehabilitation which we unfortunately lack in this part of the world. A lot of things must have happened before it got to that stage and it's part of the societal values we've been saying we are lacking. It is animalistic to beat up your wife, in fact a lot of things we do for free here are considered insane in some parts of the world. We are gradually losing our values and promoting divorce is not the right course to make things right ,love.
Beautiful94:

Whatever she did might be trivial. An abusive partner abuses for no just cause and even if she did something? is killing her the best thing to do? What if she were your daughter would you not prefer that the man brings her home alive rather than kill her?
Some men are just plain wicked.

That's what some people call "Wokeness".

Divorce is like a common "taboo" in many parts of Nigeria, especially the predominantly muslim north, and the city centers of the south especially the south west. It's also fast rising in the old eastern region.

Your comment is contradictory

Divorce is not a taboo in Islam

They walk out of marriage at ease

Then you know nothing about the northern part of the country except what you see online

The north has more divorce cases than you can imagine which is settle and backed by the Sharia court. The divorce case can be due to the man having big gbola, the man who is obviously far older than the lady not being ble to satisfy her sexually or even if the woman is just tired of the marriage.

One thing about them is that they don't publicize their divorce cases

But divorce cases happen alot and it will be quite funny when you learn what caused it

No mind southerners who claim divorce is taboo yet marriage abandonment is concerned regular occurrence even though the victims refuse to accept it is pretty much same as divorce for shame. undecided

1. Unless God Himself says in His Law that it is sin, no man can declare it so for God. Jesus Christ, the one who you claim to be yorj Saviour, made it clear in His teachings to you that divorce is not sin. Is it that you think He is a liar? undecided

2. Jesus Christ never said that so why do you declare sin that which the one who claim to be your master has not declared sin? Are you greater than Jesus Christ? undecided

3. Stop using the name of God to hide what are lies. undecided

What’s your advice on girls raised by single mother

1. It is hard for women with issue of husband demise. This scenario could take toll on the female children especially. The woman who did not or could not marry will have to deal with responsibility in one way or the other; Some find a legit and paying job, some engage in promiscuity to feed the children (which means female children will also see promiscuity as a source of income as they come of age). The legit and working class single mother could have little or no monitoring capability over the children, especially the girl child. This girl child become a victim of the society remodeling. The society gives answers to her curiosity, rather than from the mother. The cycle will still continue from there.
2. Some single mothers become so bitter that they recruit their children into hating men and make them see their bodies as weapons of torture and extortion to men. These set of mother's manipulate their children into believing their fathers was/were bad men. They turn feminists overnight, knowing deep down that they don't have that happiness too. The funny and terrific thing is that, the psychology of the female children are now adjusted into believing that they can also have the capability of nurturing their children alone too without the help of a man. So, any little misunderstanding, is the last straw that break their Camel's back. They hardly tolerate male genders playing their roles as husbands and fathers. These children never knew what having a father feels like, they don't see the need for that with their children

Islam that promotes polygamy, child marriage, beating of wives and subjugation of women. Islam is the last religion to teach about true marriage.

USA and UK are suffering from this "norm" that woman is talking about. As black people, we know our own way of taking up trends is so different. We do too much. As if paternity fraud is not enough cancer in our cells, they want to add divorce to it. Our system cannot cater for the resonance effect of divorce and broken homes. Who will wife after one or after two as a bachelor? The effect will resonate on the society for so long in a very bad way. This will be at the detriment of women and children. Which means we are going to use our hands to create new generation of unhappy children and lonely women. If you have that mindset even before marriage, I will advise such a woman to get used to buying dogs, because they might die alone. sad Woke generation nonsense in the part of the World will just further plunge the society into depression and further misery. In this part of the world; no child support system, no split in half after divorce, and no special treatment from the government after divorce. All you will get is to die alone unhappy. I'm not saying people should die in marriage. But marriage is not about your feelings (or mood swings nonsense), it is about being an adult and putting in efforts to fix situations that can be fixed. I foresee community of deadbeat parents and baby mamas.

Maximum respect

I suppose if she's not happy and her marriage is no longer working, then she will divorce.

The truth is the subject of Divorce is always viewed with sentiments but it's often the best and in most cases the only solution for a marriage that is not working.

It's no longer fashionable to stay put in a marriage where either or both spouses are cheating or where domestic violence is happening.

Yeah, so if her marriage is stable, she has no reason to divorce.
