The likelihood that Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, would prevail in the 2023 election may be impacted by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release from the Department of State Services (DSS) custody. Kanu is the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Despite the fact that the IPOB leader has not yet spoken since his release, Mr. Kenneth Onuh, a public affairs analyst, told Oclocknews on Thursday that Peter Obi’s presidential campaign would suffer as a result of Kanu’s release.

He stressed that the Igbos may no longer be interested in the Igbo presidency or any type of election and that they would now continue their efforts to split from Nigeria.

The focus of the entire Ndigbo has changed from Peter Obi, he declared. Peter Obi and other presidential contenders who were reliant on the South-East may need to explore other alternatives as they are now following their master, Kanu.




“He made it obvious to everyone before he was taken into custody that elections would not take place in Igbo land. Despite his return, the agitation persists. Peter Obi will be more impacted than the other candidates by this.



Remember that yesterday, in response to the release of their leader, IPOB told Oclocknews that the establishment of the Biafra nation would be their next objective and emphasized that nothing could halt the movement.
