World economy isn't stable.. reason why world leaders shouldn't be In a haste to abandon other industries thinking IT is everything..e.g. wanting to swiftly ditch the oil and gas industry. People are in need of jobs and energy and the new IT and renewables can't close that gap..

We all need jobs to keep the world going..

Artificial Intelligence is an existential threat to humanity

And its good to see it is consuming the idiots that helped write the code to bring it into existence.

After all this initial gra gra, we all will finally come to the realization that ChatGPT isn't as reliable as most of its hypers would want us to believe, at least the current version.

Although it's expected that as companies try to get
back to pre-cobid work culture, many roles that became popular during lockdown may now become redundant. Plus, there's a massive war going on against remote work culture, as employers and industrialists, especially those whose businesses are directly connected to people's every day mobility and gathering, seem to be losing out. And the anti working from home team seems to be winning the war, as there has been an exponential decrease in fully remote roles advertised on job sites in the past few months.

So, in essence, the downsize at Google might be completely unconnected to ChatGPT, as the writer posited in the last 2 paragraphs.
