The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, has said that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines have never failed and will not fail Nigerians at the 2023 general election.

Yakubu said this in Abuja on Saturday while assessing activities at polling units in the Federal Capital Territory where mock accreditation of voters was held using the BVAS machines.

“In the two polling units we have visited so far, there is no report of failure; the machines have performed optimally and this is the report we are getting so far nationwide.

“We have also made contingency arrangements like we will do on election day, that there is a spare machine in case, and in the unlikely event of a malfunction we will be able to respond and fix the machines’’ he said.

Yakubu explained that from the mock exercise witnessed, it took less than 30 seconds to accredit a voter adding that this was the report INEC was getting from all the selected polling units nationwide.

“The speed is good and also the authentication is good.

“The BVAS has never failed anywhere,’’ he stressed.

Yakubu said also that no incident of failure had been recorded and INEC was hoping and praying having worked very hard that on February 25 and March 11, the machines would also perform optimally.

He assured that accreditation and electronic transmission of results would be done seamlessly during the elections.

“I would not like to comment on the Osun issue because it is a matter in court and is sub-judice.

“However, in every situation the Commission learns, carries the experience from what has happened to improve the processes for the next election.

We have learned some lessons from what happened and one of the lessons is to be able to transmit the accreditation data,’’ he said.

Yakubu also assured on Saturday that in the forthcoming general election, INEC would transmit both the results on election day and the accreditation figures simultaneously so that the two would rhyme.

He said INEC created a new Uniform Resource Locator on its Results Viewing Portal where both the accreditation and results could be viewed.

We are going to transmit both the accreditation figures and the results on election day.

“We are giving assurance to Nigerians that on Election Day, both the accredited data and the actual votes cast will be transmitted simultaneously and accurately,’’ the INEC boss stressed.

Yakubu said the mock exercise was organised to further test the integrity of the machines to be used on election days.

He said it needed to test the machines in the field ahead of the election bearing in mind that this was the first time of deploying the machines nationwide.

He explained that for the mock exercise, INEC identified 436 polling units nationwide on the equality of states and on the basis of two local governments per senatorial district.

Four polling units were used in each local government area where the exercise held, making a total of 16 polling units per state.

BVAS machine, Tinubu’s nightmare 🤣

His second nemesis is Godwin Emefiele😎

Give Tinubu a chance and he will assassinate Mahmoud Yakubu and Emefiele but God pass am.

2023 elections must be free, fair and credible.

The fear of free and fair election is the beginning of wisdom to Tinubu and his allies..

Buhari want to be a renowned international stateman like Goodluck and is ready to throw all under bus to achieve that.

They all know.. and also know that they can’t influence him otherwise

Guess reason the chose cbn governor as escape goat..

But who cares., they can wail to heaven.. with each day and night 25 draws close 😂 .. why dey wail

Oya na protest against Buhari government.. no way..

Walahi e too choke

Power to the people

Look Presidency already know plan B .. of his party candinate .. should in case power returns to north..

Now igbos and most southerners must not be fooled by the southwest media propaganda of threat.. that Nigeria will burn ..

Nigeria is divided into 6 geopolitical zones .
Northwest
Northeast
North central or middle belt .

South east
South south
Southwest

North west.. has been in villa for 10 years and a vice for 4 years .. Buhari Yar’Adua, sambo.

North central.. not been there at all.

Northeast has been there as vice for 8 years

Southwest .. has been in villa for the a whole 8 years of President.. 8 years of Vice President and still want another 8 years

Southeast has not been there at all..

South south has been there for 3 years of vice and 4 years of president..

Now the northwest “ might step down” for northeast .. cos of a divided south.

Why can’t the southwest stepped down for southeast .. yet still keep running daily propaganda against same southeast .. is that equity..

Igbos should wisen up.. this same southwest is about instigating violence .. on why north must hand over to north.. knowing most Nigeria are not aware of this geopolitical zones .. but sees everything politcs as between north and south ..
All this are Tinubu plan B .. but we wait them.. we wait Tinubu and he’s media .. even though they’re beginning to subtly spread this.

Let Tinubu step down for Obi for equity and fairness ..

Otherwise anyone telling you .. power must come south.. ask him which of the south?

Is an important political question.. because southwest will twist this with time .. and get igbos into the fray to burn their homes and nothing will happen

They re trying to ginger them into protest .. but they’ve failed so far.. let them do dia protest I southwesg.. southeast must never fall to this Yoruba media

Days And time have changed .. igbo President is cruising to villa .. make Una no use Una hand spoil Una car..

Wisdom is very profitable at this point

Tinubu must step down for a southern president!
Must if Yoruba and dia media want power to the south..

Mahmood has done a great job at INEC! The only problem is that the Nigerian mind is evil.
INEC has to make both his permanent and ad-hoc staffers sign an agreement that they are serving at least than 10 years imprisonment if they compromise the integrity of Nigeria's electoral process.

I cannot believe that we have BVAS and some people senselessly allowed over-voting to happen in Osun State. What were the INEC officials and PDP party agents thinking? 🥱

And some well known nuisance loyal to a certain presidential candidate is begging to transport some sensitive materials on Election Day.
Nigeria is a joke and the political actors are the comedians.

Obidatti we know.
