You see we are our problem in this country. So the banks are reserving this monies for our politicians for vote buying, this country just tire me. Imagine the only distributed 5m to each and the reserved 258m for who?

Emefiele was threatened with dss arrest that was why he didnt come back and i believe he phoned the president based on the arrest. Its now clear that tinubu's camp were the people who wants emefiele arrested. From my point of view i think buhari has betrayed tinubu cos he wont let him rig the election to his favour. Lets see how it plays out

So Emefiele was threatened by the DSS which is under the control of buhari and he phoned the president about the arrest. Does that make sense? Where you there when he phoned the president?

who will put in the same effort to check the FG?

a month to the cash policy dealine, emefiele bolted out of nigeria and stayed in London for about a month. why would a CBN governor go and hide in London after setting a deadline for something when he was supposed to be in the country to oversee the implementation of such a critical policy?

in his absence, his deputies met with legislators at the National Assembly. when asked how much new notes were printed to replace the old notes, the deputy governor said she didnt know. if the CBN was this unserious about its own policy, where was the success for the policy going to come from?

e get the way una dey look this thing wey e no clear.

Sell to POS operators bi ti bawo? How much is to be made from such base transaction? The patron that offers the bigger kickback is that man that has a vault with ill-gotten funds who'd be ready to part with a fair percentage of his accumulations so as to get the new notes without documentation.

And the problem with that is that, he goes back to store his new notes thus constricting the supply of the new notes and causing the dislocations we're witnessing currently.

Oh, you think those terrorist mocking the CBN governor about being in possession of vast sums of the redesigned notes exchanged it at the bank/CBN after proper documentation?

Dey there dey jonz!

For me, I know the proper backlash would get to them when they'd tell the frustrated poor to lose their paltry sums after they messed up a process that's not as difficult as quadratic equation.
Banks are selling new nots to politicians and pos operators as well as other big men and women. Pos operators could just a small part of those buying from banks though the banks are to be blamed for all what's happening but politicians will be accusing the opposition for what don't know about. We Nigerians love taking advantage of each other

Hold your commercial banks accountable, leave CBN OUT OF YOUR MOUTH
NIGERIANS TOO MUMU

It takes a Mumu to know a Mumu. How much is #250M? Money that isn't enough for a bank branch in Lagos to satisfy it's customer.
Yes, the bank bleeped up but the money given out by CBN isn't enough to cater for Nigerians - fact. If CBN has printed enough notes then there would be no reason for hoarding and selling the new notes.

The politicians are not our problem in this situation.. it we the masses that are giving ourselves problems.. if the bankers can not follow a simply directive to give the money through atm to the masses... it shows that we all selfish if we are given the opportunity to be in the position of authority. The last time I check politicians no dey get vault for bank now.

This is just one bank and it is a regional bank. In times scarcity, rationing is now the order of the day. Who created the cash scarcity?

Is this the only bank icpc visited? What of the others banks it visited? Why is there no report on the banks it visited? Do other banks have cash?

Obviously any organisation can write to dss to inform them about threat to national security which was based on terrorist financing. When you read the charges laid against him u will clearly see its an attempt to shut him up. Buhari never gave any order to arrest him if not he would have been in dss custody by now. Its obvious that those attempt was from tinubu's camp.

You absolutely correct. There's scarcity of cash caused by CBN and the banks resort to rationing. Even ATMs are now programmed to ration. A POS operator I usually patronise who used to give me more than 10k, couldn't give more than 3k last week Friday. They too are rationing and it's even old notes

If the are not reserving it for the politcians why would the have such amount at the head office and yet the branch level are struggling to pay customers?

fair enough!

But I'd rather blame the CBN for hiding vital stats.

And the biggest blame to the president who didn't ask critical questions before approving this.

To tell you the truth, the effects started hitting me badly yesterday.

No politician has as much money as they had with the old notes. Including Tinubu.

CBN is actually the primary problem while the commercial banks are problems we deal with because we interact with them the most.

There have been seamless transition of notes from old to new more than 4 times in this country and even up till the Goodluck Jonathan's major note transition..and there have never been such chaos such as this

Worse of it all is that they did not only fail at cash transition, they decided to invoke panic when it's less than a month to an important election.

The pope has a finger in the pie and we can see Emiefele's full regalia

The difference in this one is that we want to go full cashless while others was just mere changing of currency. There was also no POS businesses owned by bankers then so no need to hoard monies

Banks don't even have 100naira bills to pay over the counter because they have exhausted their stock without any replenishment from CBN how much more new notes to pay. This exercise is a monument lak failure on the part of CBN

How do you know that POS are owned by bankers? Is it because of POS cash is being hoarded? How many POS have money to pay and how many are paying new notes since this naira scarcity started?

Who wants to go "full cashless"? Is that the reason cbn gave for this exercise?
