CBN is simply trying to be clever by half since they know the governors are already ahead of them. If Banks are still collecting the old notes, then business can still collect them as legitimate means of exchange and then proceed to deposit same in banks.

This kind of policy summersault is what happens when you try to implement an illegal decision despite the order of the Supreme Court and the very obvious hardship that citizens are facing. Kudos to the courageous governors who have ordered their residents to continue to accept the old notes as means of exchange. They are the heroes this period. Big shame on all those who are supporting the suffering that Buhari and Emefiele are inflicting on Nigerians simply because of politics. After the election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will reverse the inhuman policy.

Saying the CBN is under it's worst leadership since inception is an understatement.

You tell customers to bring money to deposit at CBN?

Emefiele, your MUMU get NAFDAC and SON certificate.

if he doesn’t need the old notes, why then are the apc governors worried? Do you know how much old notes was stashed for vote buying?

They need to speak up because it will affect their votes. People are madly angry and if they revolt, it will only affect APC governors because there will be vengeance at the polls.

During EndSars protest, the governors also spoke up because it affected them and that is why they all set up panel of enquirers and etc.

Peter Obi just few days ago tweeted that Nigerians should be angry at the naira issue, he instructed them to take their anger to the poll to vote against APC. That is what Atiku/Obi are banking on.

If it’s about vite buying alone, those governors have $$ stashed, if everything come to worse, you go dey see $$ fly everywhere.

The essence of the money stashed by politicians is for vote buying…cbn know people they are targeting

Then politicians already defeated them with this new directive to the commercial banks

Emefiele is a clown

I can deposit 500K in 5 different bank accounts making 2.5m meaning old notes is still a legal tender .....since the deadline specified is April 10 . Alternatively if you have individual and corporate accounts ....500k in each account

Redesign Policy is completely defeated.
No individual can generate more than one code.

4. A new App will be developed by CBN to enable customer to make the one off deposit within the extended 60 days.

5. A customer cannot make more than 500k deposit within this period and it cannot be splited.

6. Customer making above 500k will have to visit the CBN.

Mr Emefiele is trying the Masses anger, for locking down their Money and he started telling' them stories!
Why are we like this ,as a Nation?
Why can't we be truthful in all we do?
Why should the Masses be suffering while the CBN Governor and his entourage are spending New Notes, while even the Old Notes summited by their directives are not replaced immediately with the New ones?
Shame!

No, they are not suffering the masses. When I told some fellows that the pains these confused decisions go straight to the masses, some people told me it's a lie.

Policy summersault

Don't they think this through before activating it? Imagine a policy IMF and other financial institutions condemns

Policy summersault is always predictable with those people in power because they are known for test running policies like the way digital marketers test run ads.

Is it 500k which is the maximum amount each person can pay and it’s just once you can pay in old notes till April 10th each politician stashed? We are talking about politicians hoarding notes in billions here.

Lol. And think the money will be immediately deposited into your account? The normal vetting process will still follow. You can't fool the system, as NFIU can easily traced your transactions via your BVN.
