New Nairanote: Which Order Are We To Obey. FG, State Government Or Supreme Court by Ehis8: 4:10pm On Feb 17, 2023 |
Good afternoon everyone. I hope we're all having a good day? I would be so grateful if someone educates me better on this issue Here in the village, we are confused about whose order to follow on this new naira note. Is it the federal government, state government or Supreme Court. Federal Government (President Buhari) said we can only use ₦200 for 60 days but can't use ₦500 and ₦1,000 State Government (El-rufai, Dapo Abiodu, etc..) said old & new naira note is generally accepted within the state. We can go ahead to spend old note. Supreme Court has adjourned the case to 22nd of February to decide what to do. And since it has been adjourned, that means, we can keep spending the old & new naira note until they come to a conclusion. Please we are confused here. |

Case has been adjourned but the ex parte order was not extended. The Supreme court can talk but they cannot execute their judgement. For peace to reign, follow our darling Buharis order. He is the only one that can execute his judgement. Forget dictatorship. And obey your president. 2 Likes |

There is a reason it is called SUPREME court. It's pronouncements supercedes the President's. |

To be on a safer side , I will suggest we should avoid both the #500 and #1000 for like 3 days or more before accepting it back. |

BenedictAbajue:Thank you sir, God bless you sir. People are fighting themselves because of this new naira note. This afternoon, someone went to a canteen to eat, after eating, he gave the woman ₦500 old note, the woman rejected it, the guy told the woman that we can still spend the old note because the case is in court until court gives final judgment. But she refused, the woman even held his shirt and they started fighting. 1 Like |

Ehis8:It is true the rule of law holds. Its 8 days to election so theres no need arguing if supreme court has the right to judge the case. Once Buhari leaves, the next government can still decide to collect old notes from people. But for now, its better to let the executives do their thing. If their aim of stopping vote buying is defeated, so be it. But lets not oppose whatever plan they have for us. 1 Like |

If the aim of this naira redesign turns out to be bad, the next government can reverse it. If it turns out to be good then we thank them for it. 1 Like |
