The U.S. has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to address technical hitches reportedly associated with the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) before the governorship and state assembly elections on March 11.

Ned Price, spokesperson for the State Department, in a statement, said Nigerians were clearly within their rights to have such concerns and should have high expectations for their electoral processes in the just-concluded Presidential poll.

“We join other international observers in urging INEC to improve in the areas that need the most attention ahead of the March 11 elections.

“We understand that many Nigerians and some of the parties have expressed frustration about the manner in which the process was conducted.

“They have also expressed frustration about the shortcomings of technical elements that were used for the first time in a presidential election cycle,’’ he said.

Price, however, advised the aggrieved presidential candidates to use all legal means to correct the anomaly.

“There are well-established mechanisms in place for the adjudication of electoral disputes, and we encourage any candidate or party seeking to challenge the outcome to pursue redress through those mechanisms.

“We call on all parties, candidates, and supporters to refrain from violence or inflammatory rhetoric at this critical time,” the spokesperson said.

In addition, Price commended the active participation of civil society and the media for advancing electoral norms and political discourse on issues of importance to citizens.

He said the U.S. noted with concern reports that numerous members of the media were attacked during the course of the election.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Wednesday, announced that Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the election with the majority of votes cast across Nigeria.

The APC candidate polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat fellow contenders – Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, Labour Party’s Peter Obi had 6,101,533 votes to come third and candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, who polled 1,496,687 votes to place a distant fourth.

Of the 36 states and FCT, Tinubu, Obi and Atiku won 12 states each while Kwankwaso won only Kano State. (NAN)

The rigging was very terrible like never before!

Both APC and even PDP to some extent were busy suppressing and cropping the votes of Labour party in their favour in their different government houses..

Wike is the most foolish rigger among all the riggers... Some APC are now blaming him for putting them in trouble with his stupid type of rigging .. Even if you must rig, rig with your brain and ensure its done in the stronghold of your supporter just like Fayemi of Ekiti did..

APC winning rivers is the height of it all..

And to some people saying that even if you add Millions of votes to Obi, he won't win.. No, it's not true.. When you deduct a figure from Tinubu's votes, his vote goes down while that of Obi rises... Let me not even talk of the other party...

If INEC is clean why abandoning BVAS machine after doing the mock election with it, and they still came out of the public and told Nigerians that they are ready for election that everything is set and working perfectly ?

The will of the majority of Nigerians must prevail...
Nigerians will never elevate thugs in this country because by doing that, you are demoralizing the upcoming straightforward individuals in Nigeria who will see their uprightness as a waste of time

This daylight robbery of an election won’t stand.
Stealing our mandate will not be tolerated, this is 2023 and not 2003.

We can’t continue keeping quiet while we watch all these old demons plunge this nation’s future into abysmal darkness.

2023 is the year we beget a new Nigeria. Peter Obi will by God reclaim his mandate.

If you’re in doubt, bookmark this post for future reference.

Help us and tell them oo a man who formed his own fake agbado bishops, a man who twist, bribe and creat parrarel group inside legit group as he did to his own regional socio cultural group (afanifere) just to have his way.
A man with questionable background, age, wealth etc.
A bullion van offender on the eve of an election.
Man who promised to fight dirty etc is now rewarded with the seat of Excellence! What is excellent about him? His many gaffes? His comic series? I wonder why some people are still locked up in prisons. Free them all because their is nothing like crime nor offenders.

If a man like that can be rewarded then why cage man with less offence and set free the real culprit?

.Alhaji Atiku won Osun State hands down & got some votes in Ekiti State too, but neither won any South-Eastern State nor got substantial votes from there.

Yet, they accuse Northerners for voting fellow Northerner(s), while they end up doing the same.

Yorubas are still the most accommodating people in Nigeria.

Agbado republic neither igbo, hausa or yoruba. They are benefactor of this rotten system. Don't buy this idea of sectionalizing event again in Nigeria. They are about to concentrate talking to igbos as if to say it was only igbos that voted. Every tribe voted. So let everyone start telling them it wasn't only igbos that voted. This guy's have studied the system with their weaknesses. Average easterner always wish his or her name to be mentioned all the time. Now let igbos defeat this name calling and educate whoever wanted to bring up igbos voted him, that every tribe voted. This is the fact. I know there is always ukpabia asika, ndi Agbodo republic.

If this nonsense is allowed to stand, prepare for a country where children will aspire to be the next drug dealer or the next MC Oluomo instead of life as a productive member of society. Prepare for Nigeria to descend into total failure - Buhari's administration will be a joke compared to this one

Anyway, make I finish this green card application for my family members make them japa come join me
