Behold Edoga, the Game Changer Is Coming

By Ejiofor Nweze

When in 1999 Nigerians ushered in the Fourth Republic after several years of military rule, the citizens especially the people and residents of Enugu State were upbeat that their lots would be improved.

Citizens of Enugu State who are mostly rural, poor and impoverished but honest and hard working were optimistic that their new set of leaders in the State would provide good roads, jobs for their teeming young graduates, healthcare delivery , power supply to boast their self-driven productive enterprises among other basic infrastructures.

Most importantly, the people expected that the leàders would not only offer them good governance by deepening democratic culture where the voices of the mass of the people would be listened to and matter in the conduct of daily affairs of government but also were equally expectant that democratic dividends that would have turned around the quality of their lives would be provided by these new set of leaders.

Unfortunately, this was not to be so as the new political leaders in Enugu Stare turned themselves into terrors, tigers, vampires and blood suckers of their own people who they suppose to protect and cater for.
They became indifferent and insensitive to the many yearnings of the people. They cornered the commonwealth of the people and converted them intto own.
Huge resources that accrued to the state were diverted to the private vaults of these politicians. Arrogance in governance became the order of the day among the ruling elite in Enugu State and their cohorts.

Chimaroke Nnamani who took over the reins of power in 1999 did not hide his penchant for tyranny and despotism. Bloodletting characterized his administration.

Sullivan Chine, although many Enugu people consider him better than the other Governors, merely enjoyed himself in Government House instead of working hard to transform Enugu State. He did not approach governance with all the seriousness it deserves. Hence he outsourced the day to day running of Enugu State to his Chief of Staff, Ifeoma Nwobodo, which led to the emergence of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who was a three-time member of House of Representatives as the Governor Enugu State.

It is pertinent to note o that it was underChime that the Enugu Zoological Garden and Polo Park, two critical places in the State created for the recreation of youth and Enugu people were auctioned to his himself and his cronies.

The difference between good and poor governance is always clear. When Chime was busy auctioning property meant for Enugu people to himself and his friends , Peter Obi was bent on recovering the property meant for stadia in Onitsha sold out by past administrations.
He pulled down the structures erected on those property and built new stadia there named after two prominent sports administrators from the State , Justice Chuba Ikpeazu and Godwin Achebe for the use of the people.
The glaring fact is that Enugu State like most South East States except Anambra State has not have the good luck of producing good leadership whether as governors or legislators since 1999.

Infact, People's Democratic Party (PDP) administration underdeveloped Enugu State in the last 24 years or there about they held sway in the State.
They were insensitive, oppressive and repressive in all their action. They are known for their open arrogance in governance ostensibly because the people have been conquered and therefore have no way to interrogate all their unjust and iniquitous leadership.

Thank God for the emergence of Peter Obi on the platform of Labour Party which provided Nigerians especially the deprived and vanguished Enugu people the option to choose their leadership.

Hence the emergence of Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for the State who has now provided alternative for Ndi Enugu. The amendment of Electoral Act which introduced technology, Bimodal Voters Accreditatinon System (BVAS) and uploading of results from the polling units into our electoral system have brought to a certain level sanity in the system. Don't mind the broad day robbery perpetuated by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and his cohorts in INEC and the All Progressives Congress (APC), the emergence of BVAS has made the votes of Nigerians to count and it will count in this election.

Edoga was a leading aspirant in the PDP before the power that be jettisoned him for Peter Mba, who has always been their errand boy. This led Edoga to pitch tent with Labour Party and since then he has emerged the leading candidate to beat on March 11, governorship race in Enugu State.
Looking at all the candidates, Edoga is not only the man to beat but also the man that will make the difference in the governance of Enugu State. He will bring radical changes in the governance oif the State by providing democratic dividends to the people.

He also has the humility and presence of mind to pay attention to the yearnings of the people as against other candidates. Edoga will be the game changer in Enugu State. The Bible says when the righteous are in power the people will rejoice. I am optimistic that both the citizens and residents of Enugu State will rejoice if the journalist turned politician become the Governor.
That is the more reason every reasonable and sensible person of Enugu, whether from the State or residing in the State should ignore the antics of detractors and massively vote for Edoga and all Labour House of Assembly candidates this Saturday, March 11, 2023.

They did it a fortnight ago, when they voted Labour all through in the Presidential and National Assembly election.
We should repeat the feat on March 11 for the total liberation of Enugu people from the shackles of PDP.

We should not be intimidated by the threats of PDP of causing violence and inflicting injuries on the voters. The will of the people must always defeat the tyranny and oppression of agents of darkness. This is the time for us to take our destiny in our own hands because I have no doubt in my mind that Edoga will be the game changer in good governance in Enugu State. There is no doubt that Edeoga is coming. Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come. The time for Edoga to come to liberate Enugu State is now. Be a part of this history.

Scavenging for LP, and Peter Obi thread just to massage your deflated Ego won't take you to where you dream off.
Rather, it will make you look stupid. Take this time you use to write trash to pray for Tinubu so he can lead in good health and not in hospital bed.
Atleast, that would keep you busy and not foolish.

Hahaha I said it before that LP isn’t what you guys are trying to project to the gullible ones, it’s a party centered on tribes and religion. All of a sudden Aisha Yesufu is inconsequential, that speaks volume. I was soooooo happy when Asiwaju our president elect won because I could see through Pete Obi and Labour Party. Smh

Why are you now crying on every Peter Obi's thread? Is he the cause of your misfortune? Is he the reason why you are restless day and night? Is he the reason why you moved your brain from it's right position above to down below?
Obi has really made you look like a fool this week.
