10th National Assembly:Wamakko remains the best as Senate President -Jackson Lekan Ojo

A leading security expert and political pundit, Jackson Lekan Ojo, has canvassed for the former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as the the best to occupy the position of Senate President in the coming 10th National Assembly.

Ojo described Wamakko as a political phenomenon with grassroots content, who is widely known as highly detribalize, humble and sagacious in all ramifications.

He argued that asides being a raking senator as constitution stipulates, Wamakko antecedents and political credentials stand him out, adding that the President -elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs someone like Wamakko.

Ojo, made these known on Monday in a telephone conversation with newsmen, as he asserted that the only rallying point and unifying factor for all senators that will constitute the Senate in the 10th National Assembly is Wamakko.

"Going by the political configuration of Nigeria presently and the intrinsic atmosphere, the only person that can stabilize and strengthen our democracy at the parliament, as harbinger of good governance and detribalize politics is Senator Wamakko.

"Obviously, Nigerians and the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu do not need a nepotist and someone with politics of prebendalism at this point in time.

"We need a politician with grassroots mentality, who is loved by all irrespective of tribe, religion or social status and that is the former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

"He is a cosmopolitan personalty with deep knowledge of human relations and developmental ideology; Nigerians and Nigeria need him as the head of the 10th parliament.

"Because the parliament is a bastion of democracy and the house of the people, the best person as the head of such house is someone who is passionate about the people irrespective of status like Wamakko.

"In the same vein, based on parliamentary knowledge and dexterity, I hereby suggest Honourable Woke Oke, as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, he is a man with requisite capacity and competence to superintend the parliament with Senator Wamakko".
