Youths are not even studying Medicine again.

Everybody is moving to tech.

I wonder what will happen to the future of medicine in Nigeria

That was how they said they are planning on recruiting Retired Nurses back into the profession.

What kind of move is that?

To study Medicine in UK non of them can’t! After paying cheap tuition, take advantage of the system they now travel overseas to get same pay as those that paid thousands of pounds to study medicine. Nigeria pays those that lectured them all for nothing! Nigeria must wake up

Do you know what the learning condition in medical school in Nigeria is, in comparison to that of the UK?

Do you know what the hostel facilities look like? Do you know what the machineries and medical equipments provided for learning in Nigeria look like as compared to the UK? Do you know how harsh the medical school environment is in Nigeria.
Do you know the firsthand medical and pharmaceutical innovations the UK medical students are exposed to?
Can you compare what lecturers earn in the UK to what is earned in Nigeria?
But, you expect the school fees to be the same?
Nigeria doctors get to retrain themselves to meet such standard at graduation before they can emigrate.

What Nigerian doctors pay as tuition commensurate with the learning condition, same as UK trained doctors and their tuition fees.

the tuition fee medical students pay can’t pay the salaries of those lecturing them! What tax do ther parents pay to justify the the machineries and equipment? How many of them have TIN card. Private universities in Nigeria that ther standard don’t equate UK’s own pay an average 3mil per session studying medicine yet ther system is almost same as public institutions! Nigeria’s government major earnings comes from oil! Which means Nigeria’s earnings from the educational sector can’t pay for its educational sector. Nigeria should privatize education outrightly and focus or Agriculture, Power, Health and economic mineral resources.

I can't pay that much for the junk taught in private universities. If the government must increase the fee, they must increase the standard.
And you must also consider what the minimum wage, set by this same government is, in comparison to that of the UK.

So if you can't pay your citizens well, you can't tax them high.
It's simply a situation of you can't take what you aren't giving.

The truth is most people who train doctors are doctors who work in the teaching hospital. The government pays them as health professionals then add meagre sum as teaching allowances.

Bro, let government invest heavily in education and health care, doctors won't even think of leaving; at least, not emass.

If they increase the fee to UK standard, everyone will go overseas for training rather than getting trained in Nigeria.

I’m sorry I don’t support Government massive investment in health sector just a little here and ther is preferable! Uk despite its economy, it can’t cope with Nigeria’s population! Nigeria needs to spend on what can increase its income! Last year, Nigeria generated 24.5bil dollars from oil revenues, made 10 trillion naira outside oil. FG pays 720000 workers monthly putting avg salary at 100000 naira which means FG pays 72 bil monthly over 1 trillion per annum! State get revenues from the oil every month and all this excludes the Senate and House of reps and and Executives. So how much remains to invest for over 200000000 citizens! Yet we servicing debts oooo. A serious government will copy USA blueprints, Privatize the economy just focus on Agriculture , Power and economic mineral resources! Privatize health like US did
PS If Government invest massive in Agriculture, cost of living will reduce thus minimum wage will be enough. Fraudulent private Universities bribing government agencies to get license
