The United Kingdom says its visa application centres in Lagos will be closed on March 20 over safety concerns arising from the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The governorship elections are slated to hold on March 18.

In a statement on Friday, the UK said the affected centres are in Ikeja and Victoria Island, adding that customers would not be able to collect their passports on the said day.

“The Visa Application Centres (VACs) in Ikeja and Victoria Island will be closed Monday 20th March. This is to protect the safety of customers and staff. There are no VAC appointments booked on this date and customers will not be able to access the VAC to collect documents/passports,” the statement reads.

“Customers have the option to purchase the Keep my Passport and Courier return services in advance of the VAC closure in order to retain their passport during the period of closure. UKVI will continue to make decisions on all visa applications.”

The UK said priority visa (PV) services remain available while super priority visa (SPV) services will be suspended on Friday “because the next working day opening isn’t until Tuesday 21st March”.

“Customers should not attend the VAC unless they have been contacted by TLS to do so. The British High Commission offices in Nigeria are not involved in visa decision making and do not hold passports and so are unable to assist,” the statement reads.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is expected to contest with Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), and Abdul-Azeez Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Lagos governorship position.

MC Oluomo and his supporters are just show off guys ,all bark but no bite.

However they are supporters of one political party who does destruction on a grand scale as we have seen during End sars protest.

UK people are definitely afraid of these people .

See what nonsense is happening now. Saros in Lagos teaming up with aliens to bring unrest to Lagos, same way it happened during the EndSars. They were pacified even by the governor and told that their agitations will be relayed over the presidency. Yet they continued in that trajectory until such time that the security forces were forced to come in.

The governments and the military in Nigeria known for inherent human right infringement decided to go with absolute force using life bullets on the protesters instead of using rubber bullets or even water cannon. This is what the opponents have hinged upon to work against Sanwó's government. The protest degenerated to destruction of Lagos infrastructure which is carried out by a specific set of people whose name I won't mention. But these people were commandeered on radio by someone with deep seated hatred for the Nigerian entity and Lagos too. The audio recording abound on the Web if you need evidence.

In like manner, Saros have formed alliances with some to again take powers from Sanwó. If Sanwó survives this tsunami, he should work harder at moving Lagos forward beyond the level it is now. He should invest in getting water cannons and rubber bullets and never in his life should he allow his citizens protest to be dispersed with the use of live bullets.

The rest of SW are looking up to Lagos and following the developmental trajectory of Lagos. This is a normal attitude amongst siblings where there is healthy rivalry with the younger ones looking up to the successful eldest to attain their own level of development and probably surpass him/her.

If Lagos developmental trajectory is truncated, the remaining SW states will likely get their development arrested.

So chose your devil wisely.

May there be peace in our nation.

angry

The centres will be reopened shortly after they kick out the ipob terrorist.
UK realised that IPOB had their hero contesting for election
IPOB is number 10 most deadly terrorist organisation in the world.
IPOB will definitely lose and may want to cause trouble.
Nigerian army is on standby to annihilate them and restore peace and order so the wonderful citizens of Nigeria can resume back to work
UK embassy resumes work thereafter

It's sane thing to do..

We pray for peace...and nothing will happen..

But then, it's logical for organisations to watch , look first before leaping..

By Sunday evening, one should have idea of who wins...that can inform your movements decision on Monday.

Shine your eyes well well

By now, MC Oluomo should have been arrested. This is a fact that APC will cause trouble tomorrow in Lagos, especially the APC thugs. Someone or something needs to happen to Oluomo as a scapegoat.

Don't vote for murderers, don't vote touts, people that are lying to you. They are APC, with the four years given to Sanwo Olu, is this the best he could do?

Sanwo Olu is Tinubu's handbag, vote Gbadebo of LP... We want good governance.

I strongly believe our votes will count. INEC will not try to be mad
