It was registered by NLC but to me that party is more or less an affiliate to PDP.
Most of the contestant in LP party have always decamped from PDP whenever there is internal crises in PDP but they will later go back to PDP after they achieved their goal.

The 1st ever Governor in LP in person of Dr Olusegun Mimiko decamped to LP from PDP, he won the Governorship election in Ondo state.

After Mimiko 8 years tenure he decamped to PDP again.
Another candidate I think Olusola Oke (not sure though) also decamped from PDP to LP to run for the gubernatorial election in ondo state after Mimiko tenure.

In short, all the aspirants in LP always come from PDP when there is crisises and they usually go back after the drama.

Mimiko of ondo state, Olusola Oke , Micheal opeyemi bamidele of ekiti, Peter Obi of anambra , Gbedebo RV of Lagos among others they all belong to PDP

Labour Party got the first national recognition through Mimiko and he performed wonderfully well throughout his 8 years tenure.
