I believe politics isn't a dirty game.

I believe all these things we are seeing today happening especially in this election has just a common solution.

It's right about time the salary of the
1. President
2. Vice president
3. Senators
4. Speaker
5. House of representatives

Would be drastically reduced, then let's see how interested it can be for an individual to kill, and do many henious things just to be elected/selected.

Nigeria is blessed. Other parts of the world really do envy this great country because of so many things we have.

We are more than this. Hausa,Ibo,Yoruba and other ethnic groups are all one. We are specially made in our own ways.

I have come to understand that just on our own, we don't have problems amongst ourselves but as soon as it's their time to get vote from us, they bring divisions. They start reminding us where we came from and all sorts of that.

Please, let us not allow these selfish group of people to keep using us amongst ourselves. Enough is enough.

We want peace please.
We want better Nigeria.

It's not even about the salary. Salaries are just a very tiny fraction of what our politicians are making. Think of the kick backs, the bogus overinflated projects, there's corruption in every sector of the economy and it's not stopping anytime soon.

Most persons contesting are not doing so because of the salary and other official monetary entitlement of the office but because of the power and influence and other non official benefits such office will bestow on them... The can use such power and influence to amass wealth far above the stipulated official emoluments of their office.

So, in summary, your suggestion will not be effective, and even if implemented, it will drive these elected officials to steal more via budget inflation, cost of project inflation, project abandonment after payment, and other means

I don't understand how you want to stay and stash in another country. You don't even want to develop your country. There really must be something wrong with the black man and unless we get a Caucasian to govern us we might never progress.

Why are these people like this? At times, I nurse the idea that military rule is even better than this democracy. Africa not just nigeria isn't ripe yet for this yet.

Look at Abuja. Out if the 3 national assembly candidates only one is pure northerner. The Senator is yoruba, one house of reps igbo the other northerner and they aren't complaining. All they want is people who will better their lives

Its all about the control that the position commands esp that of the executives like that of the president and governor!
Reduce their level of control esp in handling funds and the will become accountable!
