In politics, Mr Gobir was a one-time commissioner for budget and economic planning and also served as sole administrator of Sabon Birni local government council of Sokoto state. The 47-year-old, who is an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria also has five master’s degrees in various disciplines of human management and development, including computer software management, as well as Master of international affairs and diplomacy and master in peace and conflict management respectively.

Finally, he is accomodating and home base politician. During the disturbing frequent bandit attack, he handled the problem locally by providing local solutions that helped in defeating banditary to the barest minimum in the state
