Today (Saturday - 25th March 2023) is supposed to be the day for the State-wide routine monthly sanitation day in Anambra State..

But an abrupt statement which was released by Mr. Paul Nwosu - The Commissioner for Information - at the late hours of Friday-Night, which announced the cancellation and the unwarranted postponement of the sanitation exercise by One-Week, is more-or-less an invitation to resentment from the people of the State, which definitely would not go down well if the State Government decides to impose strict penalties and punishments on people (as had always been the case) for not carrying out the sanitation exercise on the new date.

That the Routine Monthly Sanitation Got Postponed without the prior knowledge of the people of the State is not the main issue..
But then, trying to enforce the Sanitation with task-forces on the new day, yet without the proper sensitisation of the people about the newly set date would paint the Government in a bad light, in the sense that the Government do not really care about the people.

The Government should feel the impulse of the people.
Many people who didn't get the message of the postponement of the sanitation exercise on time had already done their sanitation exercises today, and they already planned-up the next weekend.

We hope that the Anambra State Government gets this message as quickly as possible, and get soft on the Penalties and Punishments which they might mete out on the new postponed date of the routine monthly sanitation exercise.

The Government Should Be For The People..., And not against the people.

Even if the State Government chose today to Celebrate ONE YEAR IN OFFICE,, it might be understandable, but then, the new sanitation date shouldn't be strictly and tightly enforced..
