Adultery — defined in Jewish law as sexual relations between a married woman and a man not her husband — is viewed in Jewish tradition as a sinful act of the utmost seriousness. The definition you quoted there is taken from God's Old Law of Moses which happens to be the National Constitution of the Nation of Israel in the Land of Canaan. That Law cannot be reasonable followed by anyone who does not inhabit the Land for which it was carved out for.

The definition for adultery that instead apply is found in Jesus Christ, God's New Law and Constitution in God's Special Nation of Priests- Exodus 19 vs 6 - aka the Kingdom of God. His definition is the Law all those who are His followers are called to live by. - Matthew 5 vs 27 - 28 & Matthew 19 vs 1 - 12 among others.
