Obasanjo writes UK court, pleads for Ekweremadu
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written to the United Kingdom court that found former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice, guilty of organ trafficking.

In the letter addressed to the Chief Clerk, the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, in London, the former President asked the Clerk to intervene and ensure the UK government tempered justice with mercy on the matter.

Ike Ekweremadu is for sure in hot soup... It's a good thing that Obasanjo has written to them out of human sympathy.

Typical of the Nigerian political class of which Obasanjo is a prominent member to act in its selfish interest. It is a grossly rotten, pungent, and shameless appeal to pity that should be ignored. The convicted Ekweremadu remains unremorseful telling fat lies to cover up the obvious. Obasanjo and Ekweremadu have treated the young man whose kidney was about to be harvested as expendable. That is the same way they have treated Nigerians. To teach the Nigerian political class to act right the Judge will do well to ignore Obasanjo’s letter and sentence Ekweremadu to the maximum term of imprisonment possible under the Law. Ekweremadu and Obasanjo have displayed wickedness.
