Obasanjo Seeks UK Clemency for former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife Beatrice, who was found guilty of organ trafficking in the United Kingdom.

The court was urged in the letter, which was addressed to the Chief Clerk of the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, London, to “temper justice with mercy” for the sake of the couple’s sick daughter.

Meanwhile, In the letter, Obasanjo described Ekweremadu as a “God-fearing, dispassionate, moderate and pan-Nigerian” leader who has dedicated himself to “the service of God and humanity”.

Additionally, He further emphasized the warm relationship between the UK and Nigeria and urged the court and the UK government to consider the couple’s “good character and parental instinct and care” in determining their punishment.

UK should please consider Ekwueremadu and his wife for the sake of their sick daughter, mr Ekwueremadu is a good person and i know he has really learnt his lesson now.
