Northern Nigeria is broken up for the first time since Aminu Kanu, for good or bad.

So is the Southwest and Southsouth for good for good or bad.

No Region cast monolithic votes except Southeast.

How do we come back from the animosity because those that did not vote for anyone else but themselves grief because others should have voted them.

But others did in the Presidential Election.

Because others have candidates that totally ought not be president, and also because of power rotation.
If Osinbajo ran you'd have some point

You're still not seeing what is very obvious. How about changing our governance structure so real power lies with the region thus making the position of President almost ceremonial?

If that is the case then no one would care about the centre or Presidency when their immediate good governance lies exclusively with what is done at regional level.

That is exactly what Tinubu wants to do.

Indeed. That is why I am a big fan of the man rather than a messiah worshipper like most Nigerians who simplistically think one man has all the answers.

Putting the right system in place is the solution rather than a misguided search for a solitary messiah.

Regional governance is key because unitary government Aguiyi Ironsi myopically foisted on Nigeria has failed spectacularly over several decades now. It is completely discredited and belongs in the bin.

Wole Soyinka is completely right and it is disappointing to see OP make the argument he does here.

All Nigerians should be on the same page. I.e uncompromising insistence on more autonomy to determine our own success and the pace of such.

Only sadists who love suffering still think as OP does.

Power Must not return to the region otherwise it will lead to outright break up of Nigeria.Hilary Clinton had 98% chance of winning and still lost the election so I believe Obi lost and INEC didn’t do well either
We have to improve INEC and leave things the way it’s

Sorry to tell you this but you are very ignorant and lacking knowledge plus the ability to think critically. Do you know what regional governance entails in practice?

It is loosely what USA, operating the same political system we do but copy poorly, have already achieved with a decentralised democracy where each State has its own constitution, police force etal.

Honestly I despair for Nigeria when I read submission such as yours. What we have is discredited after 50 years and you still make an argument for it because of hero-worship of the inconsequential Obi who will be gone long after your generations unborn will be suffering needlessly because of the egotism and ignorance of their forebears. Na wa for some of una sha.

The problem with people like you is that nothing, not even the prospect of accelerated progress, can make you embrace evolutionary progress until Igbo man has "tasted power".

Nigeria is not something that can be glued together before and we are never on the same page, the only thing keeping us together is money. The poeple who don't want Nigeria to go back to region are the people who want to reap where they did not sow because we know the region that will be the most developed.

🌏 The only practical way out is for children of hate that are known for international NARCOTIC trade to accept their liability that they can never ruled over the Yorubas in their wildest dream.
Any other desperate power mongers can come ,but the gold diggers from the east can never get there by the power and authority of Jehovah Yahwe, I declared 📜 .

God bless you. If not that many in government had sympathy for perpetrators, and even directly empowered them, then how many innocent victims of terrorist death would be alive today?

Evolutionary and progressive politics should be about having the power to make swift and instant decision that brings solutions to serious problem.

We have not had that since the cursed unification decree of Ironsi turned Nigerian governance into a 'winner takes all' aberration where anyone who becomes the President begins using the office as he/she pleases safe in the knowledge that Nigeria lacks the checks and balances to hold him/her accountable for open and obvious misdeeds.

In Nigeria, an individual becomes President and immediately begins hiding behind 'one Nigeria' as an excuse for his inactions born of prejudice and hidden agendas.

The moribund and hideously compromised Senate and HOR has never and will never perform their oversight duty to hold such leaders to account regardless of the seriousness of their misrule.

How can any sane person then argue for the retention of such a system patently developed to fail Nigerians and only reward those in power or affiliated with power?

Let everyone go and lead themselves at regional level because this will have a huge impact of our capacity to provide ourselves with optimal security and socio-economic wellbeing without being perpetual slaves of the backwardness others are happy to live with.
