The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has been exonerated from the business travails faced by late Benin business mogul, Capt. Hosa Okunbo, in a new book by the former Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman titled Stepping on Toes: My Odyssey at the Nigerian Ports Authority.

In chapter 11 of the book with the title ‘Dismantling OMSL’s secure anchorage’ which was serialised by BusinessDay Newspaper on Thursday, April 27, 2023, pages 18 – 19, Usman said she acted in the national interest and in line with the law in getting President Muhammadu Buhari to terminate the SSA contract and that the exercise had nothing to do with Governor Obaseki, who was wrongly fingered to be behind the matter.
