Femi is truly a fool. So what's the responsibility of the government if not job creation. Buhari government is full of incompetent individuals. They are elders but nonentities
But he is right.. mention any country that handles the employment of even one third of their citizens..none..

They are responsible for ensuring an enabling environment for businesses to thrive..that they can't boast of.. aside their fault..the world had an impact as well.. Russia war, covid 19, oil prices weren't influenced by govt..

Selfmotivated:

That's correct. No enabling environment for private sector to thrive. Exorbitant taxes, no constant power supply, no security, the government not ready for public private partnership (joint venture) as a way of creating new industries, no tax relief for infant industries to strive, privatization of government owned companies among others

Government actually supports industries especially the crucial ones that have great impact on the economy on it own..like Dangote..but some people shout monopoly when there is no other person willing and capable of doing the kind and scale of business he does..e.h his refinery.

All the foreign oil companies eating billions on a daily basis did not bother building a refinery even though they can do it with a twinkle of an eye... It had to take someone who hasn't even been involved in oil to start one
. Till now still no competition..not like anything stops them

He is actually right, however the question to ask is has this administration created the enabling environment for jobs to be created?

We all know the answer to that.

That's is the reason why we are not serious about creating job when those in power doesn't know the task they carry.
What enabling environment do they provide now for eight years.? Security zero, those that want to take up agriculture as a means of providing revenue, they turn deaf ear to it, but now they might be judging them self for eight years.
Well, I shake my head.

Jobs are private sector driven..

The jobs expected from government..is civil service..and recruiting into security agency.. WhIch ofcourse Government can't recruit even 10% of the population to work for them..so most of the jobs has to be from private sector
you know if the government had made the economy of a country good more people will create jobs.. But now the economy of a country is not good, no good roads, no electricity no good plans for the people from government… So now tell me how people or individuals can create jobs when all these things are not in place ?

Yes, it's NOT the role of the government to create jobs. Still, it's the role of the government to provide an enabling environment by enacting business-friendly policies that would allow private citizens not just to create jobs but thrive. Absolutely, this is NOT the case in Nigeria. It's no secret that the Eastern part is the business and economic engine of the failed country, and yet those who claim to be rulers of the country are constantly enacting policies meant to strangulate the region. In the 8 years that the failed administration is in control, the country has lost over 40 million jobs. "With less than six months left to the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-year administration, available data show that the government has left more Nigerians poorer and unemployed than it met in 2015, despite coming to power, partly on the promise to create 24 million jobs. President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, had, in 2015, made campaign promises committing to creating three million jobs, yearly if elected into office, to tackle the high rate of unemployment in the country and lift the masses out of poverty." but government didn't provide the enable environment

Yes they failed woefully and yet they will take the glory of job creations as one of their achievements and low % of unemployment..what a joke.

Thanksful:
Intelligent people become stupid when they for in love or need something from someone.

It is the duty of government to create jobs

Create enabling environment for others to create jobs

And also to make policies that sustain jobs for more jobs can be created.

The man is correct.

It is generally the role of government to create an enabling environment that supports job creation and economic growth. This includes policies and programs that promote entrepreneurship, investment, and skills development, as well as investments in infrastructure, education, and health care that support a thriving workforce.
While It is not the sole responsibility of government to create jobs, they do play an important role in facilitating job creation.

It is not the government duty to create jobs.

But they can still create jobs or play important roles.

The government role is to create an enabling environment that supports job creation and economic growth.
