Philanthropist Ikechukwu Ebelebe Found Dead After Being Kidnapped in Imo by Ibrahimcoomasie: 4:58pm On May 08, 2023
The Nigerian businessman, Ikechukwu Simeon Ebelebe, who was kidnapped on April 17 while visiting his hometown for Easter celebrations has been found dead in a bush in Orumba South LGA, Anambra State.

The Lagos-based businessman was reportedly abducted by his captors who initially demanded a ransom of N100 million, which was later negotiated to N10 million and paid by Ebelebe’s family. However, despite the payment of the ransom, Ebelebe was still killed by his abductors.

Ebelebe’s body was discovered by a passerby who noticed a foul smell in the area. The police were immediately alerted and identified the body as Ebelebe’s. His remains have been deposited in a mortuary pending further investigations.

Ebelebe was known for his philanthropic activities in the East. He owned the “Divine -Iyke Foundation for Humanity,” which provided support to the elderly, less privileged, orphans, students under scholarships, and widows in the region.

The death of Ebelebe has sparked outrage and renewed calls for the government to address the issue of insecurity in the country. Kidnapping for ransom has become a pervasive crime in Nigeria, and the government has been criticized for its inability to address the issue. The Anambra State Police Command has not yet issued a statement on the incident.

A friend of the deceased, Chukwuebuka Ifeanyichukwu, expressed shock and disbelief at Ebelebe’s death. “Ikechukwu was a good man who dedicated his life to helping others. It’s heartbreaking to see him die in such a cruel way. I pray that justice will be served,” he said.

The death of Ebelebe highlights the urgent need for the Nigerian government to address the issue of insecurity in the country. The rising cases of kidnapping for ransom have caused panic and fear among citizens, especially in the Eastern part of Nigeria.

The Nigerian government needs to step up and take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.

Ipob might not be directly responsible for all these atrocities, bt they created this mess by destroying the peaceful architect of the east.
Who created sit at home
Who created esn
Who armed esn
Who encouraged the killing of sabos
Who encouraged the attacking of military formation

What a load of horseshit!

They were quick to kill the man out of the hatred and blackness of their hearts, and so he wouldn’t go and tell everyone the people who kidnapped him are northern elements making a killing (literally) from kidnapping in the south-east! Had the Primate of the Methodist Church been killed, it’s people like you that will come on social-media to say ‘Igbos’ did it’! They’ve learnt their lesson after the Primate exposed their identity! Any kidnapping in the south-east that ends with this type of heartless brutality….chances are it’s them!

There are criminals in Alaigbo, just like everywhere else, but we’re not known for this level of evil and heartlessness!

Please elucidate on any state in Nigeria that kidnaps/kills its own kindred in such gruesome manner?

You may want to point at the northeast but be aware that the attacks there are mainly at targeted areas not individuals or worse off, folks!!

Can u tell me boldly that u r scared to visit ur hometown during holidays?

Let's be fair in our criticisms.

The senseless and extremely wicked killings going on in the south-east (especially if the victims are innocent civilians)….these are carried out by non-Igbo infiltrators into the region! They could be bandits/herdsmen/terrorists or regular soldiers/police/DSS personnel of non-Igbo ethnic extraction….living in the various barracks in the region, and who moonlight as kidnappers for ransom on their days off! Once the outcome ends in the victim being murdered in cold blood, it’s them….that’s their hallmark, especially if they cut off the head!

You guys are funny. Whatever insecurity may be in the entire Igbo land is not up to what is happening in any state in the North

Nobody supports criminals, nobody supports insecurity.

But nobody also supports using criminality and insecurity for false propaganda

Blaming IPOB for any crime commited in Igbo land, with no evidence to back it up, is nothing but false propaganda

You people should encourage your security forces to go after whoever is committing any crime, anywhere in Nigeria, rather than indulging in nonsense narrative because you dont like what a group is agitating for

Igbo land specifically. It used to be more peaceful and lets be truthful with ourselves.
We kill each other out of greed and major reason Igbos are all over the country instead of Igboland.

my personal 2 cents.
