Peter Obi's Visit to Wole Soyinka: A Lesson On Hypocrisy And The Poverty Mindset

In recent days, the silence of the so-called "Obidients" in response to Peter Obi's visit to the esteemed Wole Soyinka has raised questions about their hypocrisy and the poverty mindset that seems to guide their thinking.

It is important to address this issue, as it highlights the dangers of blind obedience and the need for critical thinking in our society.

When Wole Soyinka expressed his views on the just-concluded elections, urging Peter Obi to concede victory to the president-elect, he faced a barrage of abuse from the Obidients.

Insults were hurled, his lineage was attacked, and attempts were made to tarnish his reputation by bringing up incidents from his early years. It is worth noting that Soyinka's comments were merely his opinion, and the final verdict lies with the courts.

However, the Obidients spared no effort in expressing their anger towards anyone who dared to challenge their wishes.

The Obidients are quick to label anyone who supports the incoming government as beneficiaries of alleged largesse provided by Tinubu, whom they falsely accuse of being a drug lord.

However, their hypocrisy becomes evident when they fail to criticize their own hero, Peter Obi, after his visit to Wole Soyinka. Both Tinubu and Obi have notable pedigrees and have served as governors in the past.

While Lagos flourished under Tinubu's leadership, Anambra, where Obi hails from, has been grappling with issues such as gully erosion, leading to a reduction in its landmass. It's ironic that the Obidients remain silent on this matter, choosing to overlook the struggles faced by their preferred candidate.

This situation highlights the dangers of the poverty mindset that seems to permeate the thinking of the Obidients. Instead of critically evaluating the actions and statements of their chosen leaders, they blindly follow and attack anyone who holds a different opinion.

By disregarding alternative viewpoints, they risk isolating themselves and making enemies out of potential allies. This kind of behavior can be detrimental to the future ambitions of leaders like Peter Obi.

The elections have come to an end, and it is now up to the courts to decide on any disputes. Rather than perpetuating animosity and creating more enemies, the Obidients should focus on harnessing their strength for future elections.

It is essential to emphasize the importance of critical thinking, independent analysis, and respectful dialogue in our democratic process. By engaging in meaningful discussions and respecting diverse opinions, we can foster a healthy political environment that promotes progress and unity.

It is worth noting that the Obidients have previously called for boycotts and withdrawal of support from organizations when their preferred leaders interacted with individuals they disapproved of.

Similar reactions were witnessed when Tinubu visited Elumelu and when Dangote visited the President elect. This inconsistency further exposes the need for a more balanced and rational approach to political discourse.

The recent silence of the Obidients following Peter Obi's visit to Wole Soyinka highlights the hypocrisy and poverty mindset that plague their thinking.

Blind obedience should not overshadow critical thinking, and it is crucial for individuals to evaluate leaders based on their actions, rather than succumbing to tribalism or one-sided loyalty.

By fostering an environment of respectful dialogue and embracing diverse opinions, we can create a stronger and more inclusive society that works towards the collective good.

"A hypocrite is the kind of politician who would cut down a redwood tree, then mount the stump and make a speech for conservation."

Adlai Stevenson was right. His Words of so many years ago describes Peter Obi perfectly.

For the records i think it's high time we stop calling Obi support trolls Obidients and instead of calling them who they're.

The people veiled as Obidients are not but actually IGBOS as the attitudinal behavior proved positive towards igbos natural behavior to issues and things tha doesn't reconcile with her.

While Obidients are majorly Nigerians from across the divide of our nation who believe in a new Nigeria different from old order, saw or believed Obi outer appearance set him apart from other regular Nigerian politicians. This as it may, most of this individual have gone back to their normal businesses and work scheduled since after the conclusion of general elections but the remnants called Obidients are hypothetically Igbo Nigerians who have now migrate or found a new name for themselves through which they hide their identities to perpetrate atrocities.

So let say it as it is, the igbos not other Obi supporters are the new Obidients.

Let PitObi keep running from one goalpost to another till eternity. A packaged fraud, a yes Daddy crying child, with a mournful voice, a gay, court-sleeping dullard, an irredeemably corrupt, Pandora Gringory, the head of the political wing of IPOB will NEVER come near Aso Villa.
