In a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked the Imande Mbakange Community in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, claiming the lives of at least 25 people.

The assailants also left several others injured and caused extensive property damage by burning houses and destroying assets worth millions of naira.

The Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Atera Alfred, swiftly condemned the heinous attack and expressed his deep concern over the rising wave of violence in the region.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Tsar Tartor, Chairman Alfred denounced the killings as inhuman and barbaric. He urged all security agencies to step up their efforts to combat these renewed attacks, emphasizing the urgent need to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Chairman Alfred called upon security operatives to enhance surveillance in areas prone to such attacks, in order to prevent further acts of violence and maintain law and order within the local government.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, assuring them of continued support and the implementation of lawful measures to put an end to the senseless killings of innocent people in Katsina-Ala Local Government and its environs.

I was at tor donga military post today and questioned the locals first hand I saw them moving their properties. I was also briefed by the military personnel and volunteer guards that went there on a responsive call.
