The objects of the CBN are as follows:
* ensure monetary and price stability;
* issue legal tender currency in Nigeria;
* maintain external reserves to safeguard the international value of the legal tender currency;
* promote a sound financial system in Nigeria;
and
* act as Banker and provide economic and financial advice to the Federal Government.

Buhari did not just wake up one day and gave the suspended CBN governor policies to implement.

If Buhari gave the suspended governor a directive to follow, you should know that the directive was due to the CBN governor's advice to the President.

For now, he's/CBN liable for all policies he/CBN made and implemented during his tenor as the CBN governor.

Him lawyers fit use 'vacarious liability' matter save am sha (that's for policies he/CBN made and implemented, not for other stuffs like terrorism financing).

That's the way I look at it. grin tongue

Definitely, a servant can’t be bigger that his master.

The train follows the direction of the rail track, Buhari is the rail track while Emefiele was the train that followed the policy direction.

Or we can simply say “Buhari is like the architectural drawing while Emefiele was the builder that built what was drawn.

MB cannot be held accountable for the misdeeds of the erstwhile cbn gov. He accepted the job because he was equal to the task. It sound kindergarten for anyone to claim on his behalf that he was pressured into acting against his will. He has the option to resign from the job if he feels he was being subjected to carrying out any act contrary to the ethics of the profession.

Buhari was the President & Commander in Chief. Emefiele duty was to advice while Buhari gave approval. So you can not exonerate Buhari from taking responsibility.

Emefiele can only be liable on grounds of incompetence, unless there are areas he acted outside the laws of the land which will now border on criminality.

Emefiele should carry his cross... He allowed himself to be used. Buhari nor send am again. He got carried away by allures of power. I stopped taking him serious when he became fully partisan and even used the court to legitimate the illegality. The illegalities of this government is monumental!
